The FreeRepublic Saddle Club thread! - Thread 11

Posted on 01/02/2007 9:57:39 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

The FreeRepublic Saddle Club - (very out of date) Who's Who *pics*

This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.

I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!

I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.

So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

this is what I said: ( I had originally accused him of being a shoe salesman pretending to be a cowboy)
No, you're definitely a shoe salesman trying to play cowboy. Or a trash pick up man, you just want to play cowboy. You should stop posting, you're embarrassing yourself. Oh wait, you didn't mention Josh Lyons in your latest post! It's a miracle! But you did put "lol" like you do on every condescending post. Do you really like making everyone think you are laughing at them? I think it's a low self esteem issue (or possibly a penis size issue). Probably both.

Judging from the amount of private mail I got, everyone on this site is laughing at you, except maybe the little girls that just got their first horse.

I did look at your site, you need to ditch that stupid hat. You look like a dork because the hat doesn't fit your big head. Get a bigger hat so you won't look like such a loser.

Well I hope she finds the horse she is looking for. She's determined isn't she? Many would have just said not my thing and given up.

"I saw your last post on the bits thread, but I thought you were right on in your rebuttals to all his statements:)"

Thanks. He was online for a long time after I made that rebuttal but he left. Guess he couldn't find any answers to my questions.

That guy has been so arrogant to everyone on that site I just couldn't help going on the attack. Sonny's garbage of "my way is the only way to do things and if you don't do it my way, you are ignorant" really gets under my skin.

Yes she is determined, and my hats off to her for that. I hope this one works for her too.

You need to log on to the site so you can access his webpage, that way you can look through all his posts. They are really funny. Here's the link to the one I've been posting on:

Most of my stuff is on about the last 3 pages or so.

Gotta go. I have 2 appointments today. One sounded good. I doubt if the other shows. I quit giving prices over the phone because the ones that weren't serious and competion checking me out , were wasting my time. Now they have to use their time too, and come in.

Here's a really funny one where you can get a good idea of the size of the man's ego. He was attacking Becky on this thread and a bunch of his stuff was edited, unfortunately. It was a riot.

I sure hope she finds whatever it is she feels she needs to be confident. Maybe that lil ole school horse will be just the thing. Sounds like Mia, though Mia's not that old.

ewwwwwwwww

Have you ever run across someone you just love to hate? Sonny is it for me.

You know, I don't disagree with everything he says, just the way he says it.

I'm hoping it works for her too. I told her about Mia:). She was saying she was not keen on Arabs because she had heard they were high strung, but thought this one sounded good.

Anyway, a point I forgot to include in my post was the main reason she is going to look at this horse is the price, $600.

Funny, now a days when I see a horse priced that low, I get bad feelings. I know there are good deals out there, but most generally, IMO, you get what you pay for. And she said the horse has had several owners in just the past few years. Sometimes saying a horse is kid broke because kids are riding it, does not mean a horse is kid broke:)

Julia runs a puppy mill. A good clean reputable one. She mostly sells small breeds. And she sells them for lots of money, and thinks nothing of it, thinks you should pay that kind of money, because you get good quality...I've tried to point out to her the oddity of her thinking, that she won't pay for a a well trained horse, but thinks nothing of big price tags on dogs, little dogs:) Maybe it's just me.

That was exactly my point with him, and I tried to tell him that. It wasn't that I disagreed with what he was saying, it was the way he said it. "That we should not be our horses "masters""....

He's got all that "horses are our friends" lingo down, and it just comes across so wrong, especially to people who are new at horse ownership.

She should get a vet check. A cheap horse can sometimes turn into a very expensive one real quick.

This is my bet with Sonny:

He hasn't been riding very long.
He does something else for a living, selling real estate or something. I was thinking he could be a lawyer but he's too illiterate for that.
He has no training facility of his own.
He has one horse that he's trained pretty well but that's all. (He talks about that horse constantly, calls her "SIS" with all caps)
The people on his website singing his praises are first-time horse owners.
His real first name is Guido.
