This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in . There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news . Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!

I love the borders...

Good morning everyone!
You've got me beat by far this year... You win the 'Best Friend of Animals in Need' Award!
Good morning cj... We'd like to see your pictures too, if you've got 'em, post em!
So I was very cagey with the Canine Communicator and didn't give her much information. She came up with the pool thing all on her own -- and I strenuously denied that Shelley had been in a pool as a puppy, because I had entirely forgotten the Hot Tub Incident. The doggy psychic responded, "She's laughing at you." Hmmmmmm.
There may be something in it. Shelley is very sensitive to my moods and often knows what I'm thinking . . . the other night my husband was playing a DVD of a Who concert, and remembering my misspent youth I got up and danced. Shelley saw me dancing and came running up, and darned if she didn't begin dancing with me, advancing and retiring and turning on cue. I don't see why it couldn't work the other way.
I really like the borders! (and I don't think your taste is weird at all -- or else mine is too!)
I like borders too. Aged is in:')
I don't have any new ones. The barn is a long aisleway with a 40ft square pen on the end. Just not conducive to good pics. Now the outdoor pen is a different story and am hoping to get some good ones there when it dries out and we can go outside and work.

I'd try to take some pics of my cats but they hide from the camera....they're kinda like me that way. I avoid em like the plague!
Well, do the best you can when you can :~)
I like the new red on your walls Becky! The chair rail would really look great too. Lowes and Home Depot have some really nice composite mouldings that aren't all that expensive, and since it's gonna be painted anyways, nobody'd ever know it wasn't wood.
Great doggy pics Hair! I didn't recognize Homer with his ears up either, but when I saw Gidget I knew it was him.
His ears were just a'floppin' :~)
Schneiders had one I liked at a very reasonable price and it should match my show saddle.
Yay! My daughter works there. They have some very nice Arabian tack.
Sinus infections suck! Glad to hear you're getting better. I wasn't sick. Friday was a planned day off to go see Deuce. Monday was unexpected because of a lame horse. The farrier was coming so I wanted to talk to him about it and mom couldn't be there because of a funeral she had to attend.

The lucky thing is that the lameness is a sore shoulder on Whitey that is hugely improved since Saturday. Probably can ride by tomorrow.

Schneiders has some nice equipment. I've not bought from them in some time as I've found some good closeout deals on the internet. The one I have my eye on is on sale and is pretty as well. I think the style of the headstall is called Hamilton.
I have a good friend that lives in Decatur GA and she retired last year, they bought a small house and property in Barnesville and they are fixing up their Decatur house to sell and move down there. They had it with city life.
 The original doggie dance team.
Dang, I can't see it! Anything that's streaming media is blocked on our server. But somebody sent me an e-mail some time back that had a .wav file attached that I'll bet is the same team. It was AWSOME!
It's the routine from "Grease". Rookie is a smallish Golden Retriever, and Carolyn Scott is wearing black.
SPAM Freepmail?? Just got this -

I have a proposal for you-this however is not mandatory nor will in any manner compel you to honour against your will. I am Helen Nana, 21 years old and the only Daughter of my late parents Mr.and Mrs Nana. My father was a highly reputable busnness magnet-(a cocoa merchant)who operated in the capital city of Ivory coast during his days. It is sad to say that he passed away mysteriously in France during one of his business trips abroad year June 2006.Though his sudden death was linked or rather suspected to have been masterminded by an uncle of his who travelled with him at that time. But God knows the truth! Before the death of my father he disclosed to me about the total sum of $10.5Million US dollars in a Metalic Trunk Box,and deposited under a security company here in Abidjan Cote d'Ivoire and it was registered as FAMILY VALUABLES containg AFRICAN ARTWORKS, THIS HE DID FOR SECURITY REASONS. This fund represent the huge sales of Cocoa. I am in a sincere desire of your humble assistance in this regards.Your suggestions and ideas will be highly regarded., my late father adviced me while in sick bed that I should look for a Honest Trustworthy and Reliable foreigner who will stand as his foriegn business partner/beneficiary of the consignments so that the Metalic Trunk Box containing $10.5M USD, will be Released to him/her for a partnership investment, based on our agreement. Right now, I am writing to know if you can stand as the beneficiary of the Consignment and to also provide me your full ID details so that I will submit it to the security company for the release of the consignment for a partnership investment you will introduce in your country. Glad to hear border is dated - I was trying to turn most of my rooms into something resembling old victorian or old farm house. Most of the rooms have old light fixtures also. Well, my bathroom is more 70's I guess, maybe 70's Florida look :)
All of my ceilings are cathedral so they go from about 8' on the low side to 12' depending on the room. I thought about crown molding but it seemed like it would be too difficult for me to get up in some places.
