They do! And they're pooped now... so that's good.
The stuffed toys are being decimated by bored dogs playing tug o' war . . . . I carry a bagfull upstairs every night to mend them. So far I've been able to save MOST of them.
Walks are only occasional around here, they have a big yard... and a couch... they don't need much else. :~)
My cousins in Blairsville GA have the right idea -- they have the cutest little cottage you can imagine - living room and kitchen with a half bath on the first floor, halfway upstairs to a guest room and bath, and all the way upstairs to the master bedroom and bath. That's it. Huge wraparound decks on 3 sides of the house with a series of goldfish ponds running down the hill below the deck.
And about 15 acres with a pole barn for all their stuff, and a big kennel and run out back for the dogs!
Sounds good to me, I'll just need a 3 stall barn and pasture for the horse(s).
The oil paintings will look good in there. A chair rail would look nice or perhaps a wall paper border with a barn theme. I don't recall seeing one like that but I'm sure they exist - my son has chickens as a border in his kitchen.
There are two REALLY happy dogs. Looks like they had a ball.
LOL - definately a water dog.

Oh, they look like they had a great time. With his ears standing up, I didn't thing that was Homer in the first picture:)

Oh that is really neat...

Thanks, you've given me another option to consider:)

That's amazing - I would think the waves would scare her but she's happy as can be.
I really like the border I put in Bob's office. First of all, it was really easy, and then it tied all the colors together. Easy was what sold me.
Of course, we were careful to introduce her to the whole concept slowly (and at low tide). She really is a brave little dog, but we didn't overwhelm her at first.
Miss Ruby had her first encounter with the ocean at Christmas. I can't find the pictures and don't know what has happened to them -- but she would follow Shelley out to a certain point and then veer off and run through the shallows. She enjoyed herself very much but wasn't ready to go out into deep water yet, so we praised her and threw bumpers for her parallel with the shore (when Shelley didn't SWOOP down and snatch them).
However, she was MUCH less afraid of my parents' swimming pool than Shelley - who is fine once she gets in but is always reluctant to jump in. We thought Ruby was falling in the pool while running wildly about . . . until she did it for the fourth or fifth time. The kids were swimming, so when Ruby fell/jumped in they would boost her up the side and she would scramble out and run laps until she fell in again. She seemed to think it was a very fun game.
Last time I was at an agility trial there was a "Canine Communicator" there . . . and I had 5 bucks because they fed all the trial workers lunch. The "Doggie Psychic" (what my husband calls her) said that Shelley is not AFRAID of the pool but doesn't LIKE the pool because she fell in as a small puppy. I didn't think she was even near a pool as a small puppy -- but after awhile I remembered that when she was 3 months old she boarded at our trainer's. The trainer told me that Shelley and another Lab were the only two dogs ever to figure out how to get the cover off her hot tub - she found them IN it - which I guess is when Shelley fell in a pool as a small puppy!
That's fascinating. So doggie communicators really can communicate with the dogs. I'd love to know someone like that to get insights into my dogs and cats and horses. Would be cool don't you think?
Rain today, but yesterday was awesome, with temps in the low 70's and sunny.
Becky, I liked your colors. A chair rail would look very nice. My SIL is a carpenter and he put chair rails and crown molding in most of the rooms. If you watch those home improvement shows, you know that border is out. I think it looks nice though, like Duchess's rooms and I do have some in my bedroom and bath. It's a matter of taste. A few years ago, I had my house appraised for a home equity loan. The guy who came out said the kitchen was dated..lol Sure buddy, I am going to go out and spend thousands, just because you said so. Fads..phooey!
We again have a foundling. My SIL came home with another cat. It had almost got hit with a car, near a friend's house. Cat looks like a tabby/Himalayan cross, long hair, declawed female. I put an ad in the lost & found.
I really like all the colors:). I like the borders too. I'm going to go look today to see what molding i have to pick from, I've seen some on the shows I really like, I just don't know if you can buy that stuff just any where and what is the cost.

I definitely want some in my dining room, and I'm going to try something there too that I saw on those shows. The bottom half will all be painted in semi-gloss sheen. Then for the top half you paint the whole wall in flat sheen, then when that drys you tape off stripes and paint the stripes the same color but use the semi-gloss sheen...So it's all one color, but you have the appearance of stripes...I've seen them do that several times on the show "Get Color" (it's my favorite). And I think it looks pretty cool and makes a dining room just a tad bit more formal with out over doing...

Good morning. Was off work for a few days so offline. Weather here about the same as yours. Looks like we're in for an ugly weekend though.

I love looking at the pics on this thread. Ya never know what you might be seeing.

Got some Deuce news while I was off. He's back to being a western pleasure horse. The saddle seat stuff was just too much stress mentally and physically and the trainer doesn't want to break him down. That's what I wanted him for originally so I'm very happy. Hmmm, need to go bridle shopping. Schneiders had one I liked at a very reasonable price and it should match my show saddle.
WEll...if I had to take in and keep any kind of stray a cat would be easiest...I'm surprised a cat would let your SIL catch it.
