The FreeRepublic Saddle Club thread! - Thread 11

Posted on 01/02/2007 9:57:39 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

The FreeRepublic Saddle Club - (very out of date) Who's Who *pics*

This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.

I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!

I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.

So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

Great picture Frog:)

Just in from riding...I'm know you all are going to be thrilled to hear that I am actually getting a bit hopeful that I've finally got Harley's problems fixed:) You wont' have to listen to me moan so much, maybe:)

He felt really supple, and smooth today. I even cantered, and trotted for a very very short distance, just to "feel" him. It was perfect.

Well Good! It's about time! Maybe now you can start to get in some serious conditioning. I know you're ready for it.

VERY GOOD NEWS! It'd be super if you can be back on track now with him.

Now don't get cocky and try to stand on him or anything, LOL :~)

Thanks:)

LOL...When I saw the title, of that thread, I knew you had posted it:)

OK, you all seemed to think adding 10 minutes a week was very conservative...now I'm wondering it's too conservative:), or am I already getting impatient:). If he was your's what would you do:)

I'm going to be riding, weather permitting about 4 X's a week. You think I could add 10 minutes after every 2 rides?

Becky

I think that's very conservative, but there's no harm in that. I think in addition to time, the type of riding is a factor... I think whether you're adding time or adding periods of trotting and loping, just be reasonable. I'm sure you will be :~)

That is wonderful news! I am so happy, that the problems seemed to have been resolved. Now, you can get back on track with your conditioning program.

LOL!!! Y'all do like to stir $hit dontcha! You couldn't've stirred 'em up more if you'd gone and kicked sand in their dollhouse.

LOL...i swear I did not think my comment would be so controversial. I wasn't trying to stir. Some of those people over there are really strange, I had a discussion with a few of them last week, on the "Spiritual" forum...a real eye opener.

They are "pagans" believe in gods and goddesses, and there is wiccan among them. I've never dealt with anyone with such beliefs....I found it scary actually. Anyway, I think they think they can have these mystical relationships with animals and such...kind of nauseates me. But to each their own.

I thinkkkkkk it's working. I tried the new ringer and it worked with the AM off. I turned it on and same problem. I couldn't have that and have to listen to my husband who isn't here to fix it tell me "I told you it wouldn't work" so I switched ring times. I did right the opposite of the instructions and set the fax ringer to less than the AM. I think it's fixed.

I've clicked a couple of those threads you were on....

That's awesome, Becky. Tuffy is doing better, too. We put the glue on shoes back on and he's rarin' to go.

Are you serious?! I guess I've lead a sheltered life because I haven't either. Heck, the biggest religious controversy we have around these parts is whether you're supposed to be baptized of if just a sprinkling will do. I'd be waaaay outta me league over there. I just figured that forum was for Born Again Christians trying to get people to be saved. Boy, was I wrong!
