This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in . There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news . Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
Good morning!
Any news on Emily?
Not much going on today. My SIL and I might take a trip to Home Depot. The back wall which was damage in the fire, needs replaced. It is open right now and gets pretty cold in the basement. Cloudy and cold. Good day for a shopping trip.
Morning
I need to go to "office depot" I'm working on lesson plans
One was a pair of horsey socks, and one was a Josh Lyons 22 ft lead rope, and finally, a pair of riding gloves.
I guess they can see how much I'm enjoying riding.
GRIN
Yeah, I think everyone has seen them now! *wink*
Happy Birthday
Thanks so much. I am getting to where I would be just as happy to forget them .. hehe
Happy Birthday :) Neat shirt too.
Happy Birthday texasgal:)
All the pictures posted were fun to see.
Hair I can't believe you guys cut those trees up with a sawsall...how long does it take.
Busy day here...started with breakfast in town, then we went to a starving artist show, that was interesting. People were walking out with arm loads of paintings. I'd have never guessed there would have been crowds like that at a show like that. Then we went grocery shopping,,,yuk...then we came home and Mack napped while I cooked supper. Then he went back to town to practice his drums, and I rearranged furniture...still trying to find the spot I like my new chair in the best, and I think I've found it:) I love moving furniture:)
Mack is still in town, and I'm sitting here listening to a hoot owl calling every so often somewhere close to the house:)
Anyway, tomorrow I'm suppose to ride with Celia again. It was really chilly here today, windy, hope it's better tomorrow.
Becky
Thank you.
thanks for the b-day wish ..
Friday is due sometime after February 7th until about the 21st and if it doesn't warm up here soon I don't know what we will do. Barn's a little big for my space heater :)
Only takes a few minutes to cut through that one, if the blade is sharp :~)
Hullo there, wondered where you'd been!
Take pictures with your new camera if you go riding tomorrow!
Ok, I will, but it will all be stuff you've seen before:) But then again, my new camera takes such nice pictures, they might be nicer to look at:)
Has the woodpecker been back any....is he going to miss his tree?
Speaking of trees, I had two different people tell me that their horses started eating on trees...I'm feeling more and more certain it's just boredom because pastures are just gone this year...It's not just that my poor horses were missing hay. And speaking of hay, I guess they weren't missing it all that much anyway, because there is still little bits left in the mornings from what I throw at night, so that is working out good.

Windy and wet snow today. At least it's a change from all the rain. It is not sticking to the ground, because the temps are too high. Pretty darn gloomy.
We never made it to the Home Depot yesterday. Rain would have not been good on the drywall.
Good morning! Where are you located? Sunny, bright, but cool here (Houston) but I hate to rub it in. I still haven't figured out how to post pics. Can anyone fill me in??
The pictures have to be online someplace. There are free places to load pictures,
and Snapfish and York Photo both work really well, and have an easy interface for
loading pictures. They are free for a year, and they only want you to buy something
once in awhile to keep your account, like prints or a mousepad with your photo on it.
They have cool stuff to buy, but you can worry about that later. Photobucket.com is also free and works really well.
Anyway.... upload the pics there, and when they are uploaded, right click the pic
(the full size pic, not the thumbnail) and view the "Properties" of the pic. Right click
on the web address 'URL' for the pic, 'select all' and then 'copy'. Then paste that code
(all of it, they can be long) into this 'image source' html code:
<img src="URL HERE">
The code to post one of my earlier photos:
If you were to right click the pic above, the URL of the pic is all this gibberish: http://images.snapfish.com/33%3B8748323232%7Ffp63%3Dot%3E2329%3D%3A3%3A%3D768%3DXROQDF%3E23235%3C5996677ot1lsi
when you type the img src code, it looks like this:
<img src="http://images.snapfish.com/33%3B8748323232%7Ffp63%3Dot%3E2329%3D%3A3%3A%3D768%3DXROQDF%3E23235%3C5996677ot1lsi">
It sounds complicated, but take it step by step and it really isn't.
Happy birthday yesterday p2B!
