You people would need the A/C then. There are only few weeks in the summer, where we use the air in the house. There are only a few horseman's camps (in Southern Ohio) with electric hook-ups, so I would not be able to use it anyways.

My brother lives in So. Ohio (Lebanon) and it gets pretty hot and humid there in the summertime, not as bad as down here though. My husband's idea of roughing it is a Holiday Inn withought AC so you can imagine him cramped in a horse trailer without AC!

Have you ever been to this place?

East Fork State Park Bethel: 17 camp sites with electric, picnic tables fire ring and horse ties shower house and potable water at a central location for all campers There are 55 miles of riding trails plus the Newman World Walker Perimeter Trail 4 primitive camp sites on the "perimeter trail" which is a 32 mile loop some gated horses do it in a day, 3 beat horses should plan on camping in a primitive camp site or have someone pick them up somewhere. The Park requires a permit for use of the primitive camp sites.

We had thought about making a trip up to So. Ohio to ride and visit family this spring or fall.

I would. My son and I want to do some trail riding but most areas are about 4 hours north of here. I figure it would pay for itself in eating out and hotel expenses. I like to travel a lot too. I would be taking it empty at times also. We have the stock trailer and I'm keeping it but that is rough for long trips. The payments aren't bad at all.

AC,heating refig, micro a must. We went camping in Lost Maples awhile back. The park had electrical hook ups but we were staying in tents. My husband went to a Walmart about 30 miles away and bought box fans. We placed them at the tent opening:')

Well, I hate to dog pile:), but I'd have the AC, and fridge too, AND a generator. That way it wouldn't matter if there were hook ups or not.

No, I have not been to East Fork State Park. The farthest, I have been is Hocking Hills, which butts into the Hocking Forest. Awesome place to ride. No hookups though. There are a lot of private places near these Parks that do have hookups.

That would be cool if you came to Ohio for a visit and do some riding. Southern Ohio is very beautiful. Not like here in the flat Northeast.

You guys are killing me! LOL! A small generator would be nice. Home Depot has them for RV's. My first living quarters trailer had AC and we never used it. It did have a frig, stove and oven. The next one we ordered was a 3 horse slant, 5' walk in tack and 14' living quarters, without air or a microwave. It was really too big. This was in 1986 and can you imagine what a trailer like that would cost now! No places we went had hookups.

My little propane stove, charcoal grill and cooler will be just fine. (I hope)....

Well, scrap the AC, sounds like you wouldn't need it. But then it might be nice to have the generator so when you get back to camp after riding on cool days you could make a hot drink or soup to warm up with:)

Good morning:).

I think Hair is without internet this morning. I was lurking over on HH this morning and saw that RosieCotton was saying that their power went out sometime yesterday afternoon because somebody hit a power pole or something. The power came back on yesterday evening but the cable is apparently still out, or it was last night, so they missed 24. I know that probably caused them quite a bit of aggravation. They're kinda addicted to Jack I think. ;o)

Yes - it's true, we missed Jack last night, so no spoilers!

We're back now cable came back overnight sometime... We'll find a download of Jack and get caught up.

It was really weird when the power went out... it browned out and there was this loud hum outside (from our transformers?) it was a surreal moment went we couldn't quite figure out what was going on! Then it went black.

Haven't been able to find a news report, but we could see flashing lights down the road, those being turned around said something about a big truck, possibly a propane tanker, that had hit a pole.

Ok, thanks for the update, I was wondering about her.

Missed Jack...dam:). Our DVR has been screwing up alot lately, and it stopped recording last night about 1/2 thru. We don't know why, but at least Mack was watching something else and noticed the little red light blink off...He got it restarted so I think we only missed a minute or so in the middle.

Hair is going to really be pissed, she missed a heck of a cliffhanger for next week:) I'll wait to see if someone else fills her in. I think they could watch it online, maybe...

TONs of rain... it rained really heavy in the night. We were already on edge after the power outage so it was hard to get to sleep... it was loud on the windows and on the roof. :~\

Enjoy your nice day :~)

I had my bag and was headed out the door to the stables when my DIL reminded me that I said I would babysit today while she goes to the doctor. I also made it:') It is so nice outside. I would take them with me but they both have colds and she didn't like that I tied a rope to the 2 y/olds overalls the last time either.
