This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

When the discussions on rather to get them was going on, of course the girls were excited about it, they "fake bake" regularly. I've never done it, but thought if we had our own, I might do it. I get such a horrible farmers tan in the summer:) But after seeing it, I'm not sure I'm going to want to get in that thing. I didn't Know the lid comes down and closes like that on you. Might be a bit claustrophobic. But these are maximum 11 minutes beds, so it's not like you'd have to be in them long.

After seeing what some of the girls here at work look like that are my age and have been regular tanning bed customers, I'll be content to remain lilly white. At least I don't look like an old baggy pair of chaps. One of them got a skin cancer on her nose and had to have half of it removed. It was horrible all the reconstructive surgery she had to go through to get back to looking even half way normal.
Hey, I don't blame you a bit! Ice cube feet aren't any fun. It was 13 here this morning so I'm sitting on top of a heater myself.
Yeah, it's like anything. Most people do not know the meaning of "moderation". There are always idiots that overdue everything.

I have to go a couple of streets up to the main campus to the ID office and get my permenant ID and I just don't want to. At all.

You just cover up anything you don't want tanned. Leave a shirt on, over your face, whatever.

It just about blew me away when I saw that picture. I couldn't wait until I got home so I could check and see if that was really her :) I just can't get over the picture.
They obviously have a great photographer there. She was/is a beauty but I never got a picture anywhere like that. I looked at mine and in most of them, she's fat and shaggy :)
