That is quite a dream:) Would make an interesting conversation piece to have a horse standing outside a medical type school:)

Hey frog..I was scrolling back looking for something, and saw this post. I meant to come back to it yesterday and thank you for it, but got distracted. Sorry:). Anyway, thanks for the link yesterday.
Update: Jenny is almost done with the first book. I've had to tell her several times to "Stop, I want to read it" :). I think she even has Charlie wanting to read it now:) I heard her telling him yesterday, something about the girl finding/not finding the rock to get back home...I didn't catch it all.

Anyway, I'll go as far as I'm happy with it. One step at a time. Any place in the middle I stop at will be good because just where I am right now is nice.
Yes, the baby should be coming soon, although I sure had her figured for foaling about the 21st - that would be 342 days.
Warm weather will be so great :) Pictures will be here first of course :)
I thought about posting pictures of Sonny - he's got the oddest conformation. He's got the buffalo neck of Secretariat, narrow chest and lean muscles of a foundation app, and of course the knot on his head. Since it seems his growth was stunted, he throws much better than he is. Tonight I have to make chili and deviled eggs for an office party tomorrow so I probably won't get a thread posted on him until the weekend. If I don't chicken out.
Browsing through EBay might give you some idea of the value of the equipment. I'll bet there is some interesting stuff.
Weather today is overcast and rain forecast. It's back down to cold at night and into the 40's during the day. I keep hoping spring starts tomorrow or the day after.
Well, so far, there aren't a lot of people making substantive comments either way... I almost think they need a primer... some lessons in judging conformation. I'm no expert, but I've got a good book I thought about quoting from... a thread for each area: back, legs, shoulder, chest, neck, and then invite people to post pictures to compare backs, legs, shoulders, etc.
I think it would do everyone a lot of good. What do you think?
Your road trip will be fun. And North Carolina is a beautiful state if you don't have to live there :)
I think it sounds like a great idea.
I think no one is getting that many comments because they are all waiting on people to comment about their own horses:)
I'm also finding it hard to comment, because feelings are so touchy over there:). Be honest and get hurt feelings, or blow smoke up their....well anyway, I can't do that:). So I just don't say anything.
Personally, I really really want to know about Harley's confirmation. I know the pictures I posted are not the best for that, and I'm going to get a whole set this weekend when it's warm, and add them to my thread.
It might be a lead on what's going on with him, altho I think it's the farrier.

Let me know - I'm sure I have at least one horse that fits every conformational fault. I mean, for each fault, I can probably find a horse to illustrate that one :)
I wish that I knew more about conformation so that I could make knowledgable comments. And you're right, feelings are touchy. One of the reasons I thought about posting pictures of Sonny - I pretty much know his faults and still love him :)
I do really like Harley's conformation. The only thing I'd change is slimming him down and muscling him up a little for the job you want him to do. Now, how can you do that when the weather is the pits and the farrier can't put shoes on him that stay. Plus he needs some weight for winter and the cold. See, I don't know enough to know if he has some kind of flaw that might be causing his problems, if he does, I don't see them.
Agreed. I think people were overly flattering to Bay... I mean... he's not bad, but he is an old man in a speedo compared to an ideal standard. The sagging back ought to be a clue.. I think I gave the most damning critique of him. And no one really posted anything critical of Cyn until after I did.
No one wants to hurt anyone's feelings... and I don't either, really... so maybe by doing some threads on each part and having people post what they think are good or bad examples will help.
Okay, tonight I'll post some pictures of Sonny. You can work on each of his parts.
Ok, I am planning on it. Any particular type you are looking for? Bumper pull or gooseneck? If you still have the site, you can check his online inventory. I am very excited about visiting his location and seeing them first hand.
We can both have new trailers when we visit Becky. Maybe I can talk Estrogen into coming with me.
I probably won't post much till tonight either... trying to get some work done here today :~)
Where are you posting pictures of Sonny?
