Our camp site. There are 100 sites. Nice pickets lines, but the water pump was a real pain to pump. Usually people bring their own water.
It was a challenge getting all the horses in the creek. They had never seen anything like this. Once we got them across a few smaller crossing, they went in ok. The water was up to Tubby's belly on one crossing. Alison and Tubby did great. We climbed some pretty steep hills and that pony just chugged along.
Jody was good for me. She just does not like to be the leader.
This is Beaver Creek. A beautiful part of Ohio
These people were camped down from us and did they PARTY! Friday night we didn't get any sleep. Saturday, about 6 more rigs pulled in and joined them. They went out riding at all hours. One guy got bucked off in camp and his saddle bags were full of beer and they went flying! That man in the foreground, just let his horse loose to wander around. Next time, we park way over on the other side of the campground. Our entertainment for the weekend! We had fun, ate good and can't wait to get back.
Your new dog is cute:), looks like he has some age on him. Too bad he has lost his family. Maybe he was hunting. I’ve heard that beagles tend to get lost when out hunting.
Interesting tattoo on the farrier:)...dam that had to hurt.
I’ve always treated thrush with Koppertox. Just don’t get any on your hands, it just has to wear off. You should still be able to ride. The few times I’ve suspected one of mine might have had it, I’ve never been sure, what I saw usually cleared up in just a treatment or two.
I can’t believe your farrier came on a Sunday.

Hey, nice pictures, and looks like a great time:)
Are the picket lines provided??? That would be nice. Everything is sure green there, and looks very well maintained.
Alison and Tubby look like a great team:). Nothing cuter then a little girl on a little pony. Jenny’s pony was a buckskin that from a distance looked like Rocky.
That is a very pretty creek, actually looks more like a river:)

I landed up having to feed horses again today. Debbie is suppose to be back for sure tonight, but wanted me to feed tonight, so just one more time.
I told her last night about leaving the foal/mare out, she was fine with it.
I noticed today that several of the horses have lost shoes. One in particular. An old Arab, that is very navicular. Looks like he broke a lot of hoof wall off too:( If she wasn’t coming home tonight, I’d have called and told her. He looks like he’s sore. He’s really odd looking too, in that he is a grey, and really really dirty right where the cinch strap would be. I can’t figure out why he is no dirty there. Looks funny. I’ll get a picture tonight. I’ve never seen anything like it, especially since no one is riding him.
Also, for some reason today I noticed this other Arab there. He’s rather plain colored, just a sorrel, but today I noticed he is really a very nice looking horse. I’ll get a picture of him too. He’s not real “fine” built, but for some reason when I looked close at him, I really really liked the way he looked.

That’s some tatoo :)
Beautiful country :) How’d the trailer work out?
We haven't exactly been using the words "our dog" yet ;~)
...dam that had to hurt.
Yeah - That's got to be a painful place to get a tattoo... more'd most places even.
I'll pick something up for Bay's feet. Not sure how I'll be able to get it in under the shoe very well though.
We were surprised he scheduled a Sunday too... in fact, we weren't really expecting him... We figured he must have written it down wrong... he said no, though, that he usually works weekends. His wife has an odd schedule, so they take their days off on odd days.
Glad you had such a good ride! Looks like a super nice camp.
So was the loud bunch, on balance, good entertainment, or bad? :~)
Pretty nice camp setup you’ve got there!
Oh, I am just sick! My holding tank and the hose from the sink are broke too! Amy noticed water running out and I looked under the trailer and saw it was disconnected. The holding tank, where you screw the drain hose on it broke at the seam. It is not completely off and I never noticed it, because this is the first time I used it.
Tomorrow, I am going to haul it to my friend's trailer place and see about getting it replaced. This was from the "gator" still and my insurance will pay for it.
This is the trailer I'm visualizing for sale here in Nevada somewhere so I want to know what to watch for.
They did give us some good laffs. But, I really didn't appreciate hearing Goodbye Earl full blast in the wee hours of the morning.. lol I felt bad for their horses. Yahoos like that tend not to take too good of care.
It is a State Park, but the Horsemans Council does a lot of work down there. In this picture you can see the pavilion they built in the background. A lot has changed since I first started to ride there, many moons ago. (I forgot the back to the one chair) :(
I really love this trailer. Just the right size for camping and hauling. Although, I am quite impressed with my truck. No problem at all going up hills with that Duramax diesel and Allison transmission.
Yes, those little white signs on the posts are camp space markers. The campground sits on top of a hill, in a circular shape. The middle area is for the day riders.
That is a very cute dog. Good luck finding him a home.
btw, both Tubby and Biscuit are not shod and never were. They didn't have any problem in the rocky terrain.
Gah, he’s adorable! Looks like a keeper to me! How old is he?
Are you talking about the preview to see what you posted? We all have that.
I’m surprised he has thrush now too... He’s never had it before and it’s certainly been wetter. And the farrier was commenting a little about breakage and crumbling around the old nail holes, something that’s also never been an issue before.
Is this a symptom of a change in Bay’s age? Or something that needs to be added to his diet now? I think he gets biotin in his joint combo. Nothing else in particular. I never use hoof treatments.
The old bones and muscles are feeling the effects of riding this morning.
Looks like we are headed for a week of hot, dry weather.
Do a google on “Seedy Toe”. My vet book describes the a condition closer to what Bay has.
