Wanted for scaring my horses :~)
He keeps going back at it, dropping more. The horses keep getting spooked out of the barn by falling pine cones. :~)
That’s OK - it’s a nice day, they shouldn’t be loafing inside all day anyhow.

Squirrel has just been appointed your Horse Exercise Chairman . . . !

ACK! Tweek just brought in (from outside) a HUGH fat mouse, might have even been a small rat. I noticed her come in out of the corner of my eye but didn’t really look.
Next thing I know she’s at my feet and she’s meowing and holding this thing between her paws, I say “Tweek!” “Eeek” and she stand up, and watches the thing run under my feet and around and around the computers under the desk. Pippin ambles over and watches it go around and I say “One of you GET IT!” They just follow it around and bat at it. Homer doesn’t like me yelling and he comes over and gets between my legs looking for approval but pays NO attention to the mouse.
Well, the old standby, Gidget, is out in the yard sunning herself and I yell “Gidget! Get in here and get this MOUSE!” she comes in, past the two kittens, grabs the mouse, who squeaks loudly TWICE (ACK!) and *gulp* down the hatch. Dang she’s lethal.
Man... The wild kingdom is way too much drama for me.

Good girl Gidget!
And you didn't even have to bury it!

Well see... if she keeps it down...
To: HairOfTheDog
If she doesn’t, maybe she’ll lose it outside — way down the pasture — under a bush — (we can hope).

Glad to hear it... I lunged horses yesterday and today, getting Bay limbered up, and making sure Cyn is in a good working mind.
Yesterday she was real bitchy... just a sour grouchy attitude and she even tried to buck once (she's not very coordinated) on the lunge. Today she was a dream, easy going girl... Go figure.
She's chunky. She gains weight in a funny way... she doesn't particularly get a belly, she gets an all-over blubber layer, like a seal, so she jiggles a little all over when she trots ;~)

And here she is asleep at the canter. I don't know what it is about her, whether she blinks slowly or more often than the others, but I sure catch her with her eyes closed a lot.

Bay seems rearing to go :~)

I was house sitting once, and had a couple of friends over. The woman has three cats, and one of them found a mouse. I kept hearing this *crash* *bang* *SQUEAK!*. We all came out of the den to find one of the cats with a small field mouse in his mouth and he'd periodically drop in and bat it while the others showed no interest.
Friend #1 thought that it would be a great idea to chase the cat around the house and finally chased it into one of the bathrooms upstairs. With the mouse. So we all get into the bathroom, with the cat crashing around and finally separate him and literally toss him out. Now the three of us are stuck in the bathroom with this mouse who is running all over the floor, and we're like the three stooges trying to get out of the way. Finally we all dived into the bathtub. Three of us, in the bathtub. We sat there for a half an hour whispering to one another while the mouse hid up in the radiator.
(I'll admit, it wasn't one of my prouder moments)
Finally one of us got the bright idea to put cheese on a chopstick and try to tempt the mouse with it. All it did was driver it farther up into the radiator. I don't know what happened to him after that. We just left him there.
The cat, however, hid under the boiler for quite some time, completely traumatized.

Verrry boooorrrring. I only worked her about 10 minutes. She didn’t give a wrong step so I let her go.
Let’s bring this in the HOUSE and play with it, is what they were thinking :~)
To: HairOfTheDog
They need a serious lecture - mice belong outside only. As a matter of fact, if they find them inside, they are to take them out. I don’t mind snakes or spiders but mice immediately put me up on a chair.

I mind snakes... I don’t like them bringing those in the house either.
To: HairOfTheDog
The thing about snakes is that they generally don’t run up your pants legs. Mice do.
