Never said they didn't have weren't capable of wisdom...only that they shall remain forever clueless about some things. They're just hardwired that way.

Hi Sundog

When I worked in the theatre business, I once had to hand deliver some business papers to the Chairman of the Rank organization for his signature, something to do with a big acquisition. They had sent them up from London via express train and I picked them up about 11:30PM and drove to his estate about 30 miles away. I arrived after midnight and was told he was out fishing with his friends.

As it was important that these papers be hand delivered and the time noted – I just sat and waited in the house for about two hours until they returned with their waders and tackle.

Standing in trout streams at two-o-clock in the morning is mad enough but wandering over crumbling ice fields or kayaking between crevasses is even beyond that. There must be something I am missing.

Solitude I am sure I can stand with no problem - I once even applied to shoot wild pigs in Australia, alone in the outback for a month or so at a time and be supplied by air on a bi-weekly basis. But fishing, and especially in that climate, I am sure would drive me more nutz than I am already.

Love your pics gran -- great reflection job with the islands and birds.

Never laughed so hard since Cardy tried to get wimmen to an island hideaway.

You may laugh old one, but an island hideaway or Nully´s and Darks´s basements for wimmin of a certain bent. What would you pick?

The answer is obvious, soooooo, now an island hideaway with the house juxtaposed with adjacent basements, or more exactly adjacements. Separate facilities for several wenches. A pair and spare, does that sweeten the pot? :)

Morning, Cardhu.

Craziness and Genius are too closely related for even the best of doctors to discern, and there is something about the peacefulness to be had out there that reminds one of the supreme peace found in death.

I"ve known fishermen to be about as widely distributed as bats on the globe, and even in the most inaccessible mountains, if the fish have gone up a stream, the fisherman will follow them up.

Here, by the way, is the most elegant way of going fishing at night I know.

That is really amazing,

I have seen thousands of fish attracted by strong lights on water when in harbor. We even caught a shark by that method in a natural harbor in the Andaman Islands, but the only fish I ever saw leaping that high were flying fish, dolphins and salmon.

As for the supreme peace found in death - Peace can be appreciated. I prefer to call it oblivion the ultimate nothingness.
