I loved Ringworld.

Evidently, Niven was envisioning anti-gravity like a permanent magnet. Boy, that would be fun to play with! Magnets are magic too, though.

Good evening, everyone! Just got my first DSL modem hooked up, and boy, does FR ever move FAST now. Whhheeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!

It's kind of like getting blasted with a firehose, only not as cold.

Now I can actually look Pookie18's daily Today's Toons thread on not wait for over 5 minutes for it to load.

Close, but not quite. Gravitons don't appear to have a polarity per se. At least, not in any of our 4 observable dimensions. But yes, it would be a terrible lot of fun to play with.

Remember those "fun houses" with the tilted floors and chandeliers sticking up out of the "ceiling" at your feet? Now imagine something a bit more Escher-esque and for real... ;-)

I loved Ringworld.

ME too. I read it the first time at 14. I have been a huge Niven fan ever since.
