I buy olive leaf extract capsules at the local organic/health food store for an antibiotic. The nice thing about it is that it WORKS without side-effects. I know capsules aren't appropriate for a baby, but (not having babies lately, I haven't needed to search) they may have it in a liquid.
It's all I've used for the last three years. The nice thing is you can take it as long as you want. I use it for maintenance. Good stuff!
My friend drives a bus when he isn't racing, and he got the latest round of conjunctivitis. I got him some "Eyebright" and olive leaf capsules, and he was fine in a few days. He didn't have the time or the money to see the doctor. I think this cost him $14.
I got pink eye a couple of weeks ago--what really ticks me off is that I have no clue where it came from-none of my family or friends had it or got it.
Natural remedies work better than antibiotics any day!
I'll have to look into that. There's an herbal store not far away. We'll see how he does over the weekend; it's not too bad so far. He's cranky when his temperature goes up, and wants to nurse instead of eating food, but we can live with that.
I used to get pinkeye when the two oldest kids were in daycare, back when I was putting Der Prinz through college. I'm allergic to the sulfa drops - found out the hard way!
