Thank you both! All our babies have had ear infections, usually when they're congested because of a cold or allergies. We've had a cold, so now (I assume) he's got an ear infection.

In the past, I'd have called the doctor this morning when he still had a fever, but we had such awful experiences with James using antiobiotics that I think we'll do better just to tough it out. If his ears start oozing, of course, I'll take him to the doctor.

Did James have a reaction to the antibiotics?

I don't like using antibiotics or prescribed drugs if at all possible. We were lucky in that for the most part, none of us got ear infections or the like.

We did have a couple of folks end up with appendicitis, me included. It's really not fun to not being able to use your stomach muscles when you have younger brothers trying and succeeding in getting you to laugh. Ow.
