Manual Transmissions are great if you don’t want your vehicle stolen.

I've had two cars stolen -- both were sticks. But then again, those were many years ago.

I enjoy driving my 5-speed stickshift mini-SUV.

Makes it easier to steal your own car, too. That is, to hot-wire it if necessary in an emergency.

I had a weird thing happen with my truck one day. I drove to the grocery store, apparently using the key to my wife's car. When I came out, I couldn't drive home!

Eventually, I decided to go home anyway. I ran a jumper from the battery to the ignition coil, and triggered the starter with a metal spoon. It was a big MacGyver moment.

It worked too! I drove home and got my real keys. Since then, I probably carry too many keys. But I've never had to steal my own vehicle again.

Also, I can't tell you how many times I've started my vehicle without using the starter, sometimes just for fun.
