Hello,
My sister in-law is trying to start some family traditions, this year she cooked boiled cabbage and lentils. Hopefully boiled cabbage won't stick. They finally almost finished remodeling their host so they could have people over. If the food has a good story behind it is a plus. What else is traditional severed new years day. Anything to replace cabbage.

also, no turkey or chicken because like the turkey and the chicken, you might be doomed to scratch the dirt for your food all year long.

...What else is traditional severed new years day....When my kids were home, I always made cinnamon rolls for supper on New Year's Eve. MUCH better than cabbage!
