I wonder how long it takes for polar bears to turn into, like, just bears.

From Darwin's point of view?

I am assured that Darwin doesn't think much about it.

However, I'm curious whether Ursus maritimus retains colorization genes that can darken its fur under selection pressure.

I think some Poar Bears have been sighted that have markings or spots.

Their other adaptations would not be as much of a hindrance in a non-ice world, but they would have to find something else to eat.
