That was a pretty awesome game.
For Oklahoma, reminds me of the "dark days" Earle Bruce comment after that OSU vs Indiana loss.
For Boise State , they showed some real moxy and I have to hand it to them they came ready to play and never showed a moment of quit.
Congratulations Boise State, great game, great season.
David slings his rock and hits Goliath square in the forehead.
As a native Nebraskan, and a life-long Huskers fan, I was really disappointed in their coaching in the Big 12 championship game and in their loss to Auburn in the bowl. They just didn't show any imagination or guts.
But after watching this game tonight, I'm frankly glad they lost to OU. Otherwise, we wouldn't have had the opportunity to see this classic win by Boise State. ;-)
Besides, I adopted Idaho almost twenty years ago. :-)
Republicans won every statewide political race in ID this year for the first time since the Hoover Administration, and now this! ;-)
I'm still in mourning! ;-)
Makes a great storyline for the media, but that wasn't an upset, it was a game of equals.
LOL...
Might have been in 1984 - the only bowl game I was interested in for 1985 was OUrs, the Orange Bowl, when we beat Penn State and won the national championship.
I was really impressed with BSU's defense, they played OU as well as any team in the Big 12 for most of the game. But it was clear that at the end they were gassed, because they simply didn't have enough depth. They knew they would not stop OU again, so that's why going for the win when they did made the most sense.
Oh, yeah, we're just the evil Halliburton of the Halls of Ivy.
This is why I don't do bumper stickers or tattoos.....typing to fast can also lead to regrets.
lol!
They were going back and forth the whole game, but even so, Jarrett was out of line and displayed a T.O. attitude.
What is it with wide outs that make them such A-holes?
The Maryland-Miami game was a regular season game where Frank Reich came off the bench and scored 3 TD passes in the 3rd and two more in the 4th to overcome a major deficit to win. What makes it remarkable is that he did the same thing in a playoff game against Houston. Off the bench for the injured Jim Kelly, he brought the Bills back from a 4 TD deficit to beat the Oilers. I believe Houston fired the Defensive coordinator in the locker room after the game..
He's only a sophomore. He should be thinking about finishing his education -- not marriage. Just my opinion.
Oh, didn't remember the college game - but do remember Oilers during Moon, because I was associated with him in some business things. That must be when got, lol, Buddy Ryan. Such a deal.
I married my wife after her sophomore year and her grades improved after marriage. Being married should not be a barrier to getting an education.
Okay. I got married as a senior after I got back from National Guard basic training.
Yeah, BSU's offense didn't help the defense out much in the 2nd half. In the 3rd quarter the defense was on the field more than 10 of the 15 minutes, and BSU ran only 12 plays to OU's 24. The 4th quarter would eventually end up more even, but BSU stayed on defense most of the 1st 9 minutes of the 4th. And of course the BSU offense didn't score a point in the 2nd half until the final few seconds.
The Sooners played as if they knew they would win, it was their 'destiny'. Even after being down 14-0 in the first quarter, you knew, they knew, we all knew, it was just a matter of time.
But..............
When has anyone ever seen a team score 22 points in the final three minutes of a game and lose?
Hats off to Boise State, you are right, they just flat out wanted this one.
