Mike McCarthy may wind up in Pittsburgh, but given the long tenures of Steelers coaches, that would be an odd choice. It’s speculated that it would help them hold on to Aaron Rodgers. It’s also speculated that he wouldn’t want to stick around for MM.
Ten total vacancies this year, nearly a third of the league [Titans, Giants, Falcons, Browns, Raiders, Cardinals, Ravens, Dolphins, Steelers, Bills]. One of the sports podcasters said this will result in a mass of coordinator vacancies (both O and D), in part because some of the HC jobs will be filled by coordinators, and there will be fill behind for that, and in part because incoming HCs may very well want to pick their coordinators, leading to even more fill behind here and there. And the HC jobs will have to be filled first, because any of the coordinators in the running for HC anywhere won’t want to take a coordinator offer for at least two reasons.
