And, that's their season.
The two guys calling the game for Fox today? One was competent, the other was an overtalkative, useless POS who doesn't belong on the air. It made more of an impact, because I actually don't watch the games, I just listen to them, or I check the results in the evening, and if they happened to have won, watch the highlights on YT. It's a big timesaver.

Josh Allen, OLB, Kentucky
Montez Sweat, DE, Mississippi State
Joe Jackson, DE, Miami (Fla.)
2000, Pick 20: Stockar McDougle, offensive tackle, Oklahoma. David P. Gilkey, Detroit Free Press
2001, Pick 18: Jeff Backus, offensive tackle, Michigan. Julian H. Gonzalez, Detroit Free Press
2002, Pick 3: Joey Harrington, quarterback, Oregon. Paul Warner, AP (Detroit would have been better off drafting Joey Heatherton)
2003, Pick 2: Charles Rogers, receiver, Michigan State. Eric Seals, Detroit Free Press
2004, Pick 7: Roy Williams, receiver, Texas. David P. Gilkey, Detroit Free Press
2005, Pick 10: Mike Williams, receiver, USC. Julian H. Gonzalez, Detroit Free Press
2006, Pick 9: Ernie Sims, linebacker, Florida State. Julian H. Gonzalez, Detroit Free Press
2007, Pick 2: Calvin Johnson, receiver, Georgia Tech. Stephen Chernin, AP (Megatron! Wish he could have gotten a Ring)
2008, Pick 17: Gosder Cherilus, offensive tackle, Boston College. Mel Evans, AP (Jim Schwartz’ first pick as Lions coach; my BiL said, “never heard of him”; after his contract ended he jumped to the Colts, became the highest paid right tackle in the NFL at that time, played a full season, most of a second season, injury caused the Colts to cut him; went to Tampa Bay Bucs and played most of two seasons; retired; the thing I remember about him as a Lion is how he’d reach down deep inside himself and the rule book to pull out a penalty at the worst possible time in games)
2009, Pick 1: Matthew Stafford, quarterback, Georgia. Julian H. Gonzalez, Detroit Free Press (best Lions QB in my lifetime, one of the best in the league, not top five, but he’ll win a Superbowl before he retires, y’know, for whatever team he’s with at the time)
2010, Pick 2: Ndamukong Suh, defensive tackle, Nebraska. Andrew Weber, USA TODAY Sports (he’s playing some of his best ball now with his third NFL team; losing him left an empty feeling in the gut, but the gratuitous penalties were not missed)
2011, Pick 13: Nick Fairley, defensive tackle, Auburn. Kirthmon F. Dozier, Detroit Free Press
2012, Pick 23: Riley Reiff, offensive tackle, Iowa. Duane Burleson, AP
2013, Pick 5: Ezekiel Ansah, defensive end, BYU. Stephen Brashear, AP
2014, Pick 10: Eric Ebron, tight end, North Carolina. Julian H. Gonzalez, Detroit Free Press
2015, Pick 28: Laken Tomlinson, guard, Duke. Romain Blanquart, Detroit Free Press
2016, Pick 16: Taylor Decker, offensive tackle, Ohio State. Charles Rex Arbogast, AP
2017, Pick 21: Jarrad Davis, linebacker, Florida. Kirthmon F. Dozier, Detroit Free Press
2018, Pick 20: Frank Ragnow, center, Arkansas. Arkansas
This kinda cheers me up:

By contrast, the Vikings stayed alive with a 41-17 romp over Miami. Just a day or two ago there was pissing and moaning about how Kirk Cousins was an overpaid bust. Now the boo birds in a different fan base are carping about Aaron Rogers. One difference is, I'm enjoying the latter. ;^)
