Why not nominate a woman this time? It might make it harder for the Dems to filibuster her nomination.Dolly Parton? Clinton (Bill) would certainly be the first to offer his support....with him on board, she couldn't lose.

GWB kept Mitchel from winning the post of commisioner of baseball because of the treatment on "no new taxes" by Mitchel to 41 - does anyone think that this President is going to forget? If it happens then we know all is lost.

,
triumphal Democrats began floating the names of potential replacements. Among those deemed "acceptable" as U.N. emissaries were former Rep. Jim Leach of Iowa and former Democrat Sen. George Mitchell both ardent supporters of the international body's globalist agenda. Guess maybe the rabid Bush Haters should check their sources a little closer rather then immediately launching into freak out mode the second they hear some rumor.

It's one thing to throw in the towel, but this is total capitulation !!!! I guess if he's going to bend over, he might as well go all the way to the ground. LOL

All it takes is one and then you get word of mouth going.
Silly me, I thought this headline said George Michael for UN Ambassador. That didn't make any sense at all.

What makes you think he was popular with the Bushes?
He made GHWB's Presidency a partisan hell. Another poster says GW as Rangers' owner cast the dissenting vote to keep him from being Baseball Commissioner. I didn't remember that myself, but the poster was saying GW did that as payback for Mitchell's unrelenting partisanship against his dad. Also, a different poster has a quote from Mitchell totally badmouthing the Iraq War and saying the result is we must start withdrawing.
The Bushes are generally polite and personable, but I don't see how George Mitchell fits into their scene as President Bush's U.N. Ambassador.

The sad part is as I sit here and try to think of someone with the same smarts and gusto as Bolton, absolutely no one comes to mind. Smarts here, yes, and gusto there, yes, but not one individual who has both.

If George Mitchell is selected, the Bush Administration will contine its move to the left and become an even lamer, lame-duck Administration--if that's even possible at this point.
I guess he could still raise the cap on SS taxable earnings just for good measure, too.

Hmmm, can't decide whether you two are vulgar-mouthed Bush-Haters, DU trolls, or just a couple of nuts. Hmmm....tapping toes, twiddling thumbs, drumming fingers............................................................................................................................nope,
still can't decide. Too close to call. One thing's sure. You can't read, or don't bother to.
