That 14 year old was too young to drive, and probably had no idea of the possible consequences of throwing eggs at cars. He most likely thought it was just a cute prank, harmless in the main. He was wrong, of course, and that's why we have parents in charge of young skulls full of mush. The SUV driver who shot him can't claim the same ignorance. This was murder, plain and simple.
I don't believe the kid had NO IDEA of the consequences, but I digress. Yes this was murder in the fact that the driver shot the kid dead and did not give place to wrath (let the authorities deal out the justice). If the kid had killed a occupant of the car, like nearly happened to myself, then the law of Moses would require his death. But in this case, death was not warrented, and the angry driver who could of just held the thug until police arrived took arger by the hand and unjustly killed the thug.
Your point is valid sir. I just have problems with people that act like this was just a little prank to be easily ignored.
