Yep, it's all true. Don't do the crime, unless etc. Trouble here, is some people are saying it's quite ok to shoot an unarmed 14 year old to death for throwing an egg at a car. The kid's actions were reckless, and possibly very dangerous, but chasing him down, cornering him, and then shooting him to death is just plain rotten, and the murderer should get the same thing. Anyone who condones this should picture himself in that alley, holding the gun, looking squarely at this kid, and seriously ask themselves if they would have emptied it into him.
"Oh... it was just youthful hijinks..."
And if it had ended in this kid victim dying from his "prank"... would you still be singing the same tune?
A crime is a crime. Rightfully, the victim of said crime, at the point of the offense, is a 1000 times more likely to punish said criminal more effectively than the legal system ever could.
I'd say getting shot at is a pretty damn good deterrent for criminal mischief and vandalism... Don't you?
