Well, it wouldn't be unheard of for us to have another cold snap still, that's why it's a risk to do this now. But this week it's been rainy and in the 50's by day... mid 40s at night... Almost warm enough to germinate seed.
The school had probably called 911 once previously and got yelled at for doing so by the parent - you know the "my child, my decision etc." and didn't want to pay for the ambulance.
Hair - my folks did the same thing when I broke my arm as a young 'un, 'course we didn't have 911 or paramedics at the firehouse in those days.
When spring does arrive, we have lots of daylilies to split and transplant. Several raised beds need more dirt and compost.
