What kind of food is he on?

He's ~back~ on the Chicken and Rice food he'd always done well on before. We had changed brands earlier in the fall, and while I think that might have been it, the vet isn't sure. Vet thinks it's a seasonal thing maybe, because he did have a breakout last year in Dec. too. Maybe something about being in the house more for winter. I dunno.

Hitting him with antihistamines and an antibiotic to get him healed and we'll see. Got a good topical spray, actually has a little novacaine in it to deaden the itchy spots... Hope that works better, and he got a bath with a good medicated shampoo.

Ack, poor Homer. Hope the chicken and rice plus the wonders of modern pharmocology get him back to normal soon.

Ol Gifford, the lab, was on a strict mutton and rice diet for a good number of years for his skin disorders. Really worked for him.

One of the cats had to have an allergy shot. We recently put out a horse blanket (that was left here by the former owners) for them to sleep in and I wonder if that was the culprit. I've heard that lamb and rice formula food is really good for animals and can sometimes help allergies from being so bad...I imagine chicken and rice would be about the same.
