The Hobbit Hole XXXII - Sweet is the sound of falling rain
The Freeper Hobbit Hole Blog ^ | December 1, 2006

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

shook the bunny.

It took me several minutes of thought to remember what that reference was about.

Great dog pictures... I was wondering, did y'all watch Puppy Bowl III yesterday?

Happy birthday!

FYI, my brother's midlife crisis started when he was 39. Mine started when I was 37.

Ya know.... as demonstration of how crummy last week's episode was, I forgot it was even on until the drive home from work.

Things that make you go hmmm....

And "Heroes", too, which we tape so that we can watch it after "24" (it's on at the same time).

Yeah... despite the "big boom", so far this season has been kinda lame, IMHO.

Not only last week's episode of "24" but also "Earl", "The Office" and "Scrubs" were pretty crummy too. There's always "Prison Break" for must-see TV, though. LSA

Big'ol is predicting Heroes won't survive to season 3 putting it opposite 24 like that. Just like putting Battlestar Galactica on late Sunday nites.

Poo. They always cancel my shows.

If they cancel Battlestar Galactica, I'll find some way to get revenge. Painful revenge.

It must not be canceled. Even if there are occasional dud episodes...usually ones focusing on Lee. I don't really like him.

I think I remember you mentioning that last year...but no, we didn't watch it. Bet Gidget would *love* Puppy Bowl, though!

We just watched [most of] "The Meaning of Life" and "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" instead.

He's very pretty.

But then, so were Dirk Benedict and Richard Hatch

Yep, we're watching "Prison Break" now...

(That thief's arm is never going to work right again...)

Pretty doesn't werk that well for me...especially with that voice. He just seems like a whiny pretty-boy a lot of the time. I guess I like my guys a little more rough around the edges.

I prefer his Dad, character wise, anyhow. And Chief Tyrol.

Well, IIRC, "Battlestar" is produced in England and imported to the States, so it may not be dependent on SciFi's ratings.

I think it's filmed in British Columbia...hence why a lot of the scenery when they're on certain planets doesn't look that much different from WA. ;-) Odd how most of the planets they land on are rainy places with tall, straight evergreens...

Which network owns the production, though, I dunno.

It wouldn't surprise me if it was filmed around Vancouver, a lot of TV shows are. I think one of the British satellite channels owns the original production rights, but I'm too lazy to look up which one.
