Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!
And that brings me some comfort.
That cutie pie brother and sister are from Lacey, which is here in my area.
Good morning everyone!
The live thread named them Donnie and Marie, or rather Dani and Mari. :P
I didn't...but we missed a bit of the first day, which is when they were there. And I didn't go through the crowd shots slowly.
I think I'll obtain cookies and do some checking. ;-)
Yep...I was fixin' to have to jump in the car and go check on 'em.
;-)
Good morning!
~sip~
Steve's off for his interview...it's at 11am but he had a long way to drive, through iffy road conditions...so he left at 7am this morning...
Everybody check in if you can...
We're under a winter storm watch...it's very overcast outside.
I laid our frozen porch mat over the hole I cut in the ice over the water supply access! LOL! Don't want to have to dig it out again!
I'll say...
It says he refused his daily dialysis...and lived almost a year without it! I wonder if he had accepted once-a-week dialysis...wonder how long he would've lived?
Amazing.
We're fine here, they're expecting temps of 38, won't get this ice melted, just will make everything slicker than it already is!! The day I fell and broke my hip the temp. was 38 and rising, so everybody be careful out there!!! LSA
May I ask...how old were you when you broke your hip? Iffin' it's none of my beeswax, I'll understand. ;-)
If I live to be 81, I'm not sure I'd accept dialysis either.
Papa lived for over 10 years with a permanent catheter. I don't know how he did it.
Just take me out back and shoot me.
~shudder~
The gun or the catheter?
The catheter!
I was only 33, wearing a pair of open-toed, sling back pumps, slipped on black ice, and that was that. (sigh)
Heh... I'm hoping that post was LSA :~)
Ah - now I see the rest of the story... ouch, LSA...
Ugh!!
Heh... funny you should say that... Just went out to take out the garbage can to the street. There's still a layer of ice here, but it is melting and raining.
That layer of ice with water on top appears to be a uniquely frictionless surface. Just about fell on my tookis. Note to self: slippers are not suitable outdoor snow and ice wear.
