Dixie Chicks refuse to leave well enough alone (Chicks Get Owned! LOL)
Pittsburgh Post-Gazette ^ | 12/01/2006 | John Hayes

"I find Natalie Maines, Emily Robison and Martie Maguire conspiring with manager Simon Renshaw to intentionally deepen the rift separating the group from its fans. They're clearly shown planning ways to get the media to buy into the group's pleas of right-wing victimization, and trying to turn the anti-Chicks phenomenon into the band's defining element. That's it. I'm appalled. I've had it with these Chicks. The most remarkable thing about "Shut Up & Sing" is that although it's not a hostile documentary taking shots at the band, it reveals its members to be smug, arrogant and manipulative, intentionally growing the monster that cripples their career, then whining about it to the press.

Difference is, football fans love football games and will go to a game to rip on a player. Country Music fans are decidedly conservative and will not buy their records or go to their shows and they are nowhere near crossover. There is no other place they can turn. They have cut themselves off with no other audience. Complete morons.

Can you please start a thread for the grammy nominated (5 times) chicks from today's msnbc.com? I'm still clueless on how to do this. THanks...if you have time.

But you do realize that they have been nominated for 5 Grammies? Sounds like the MSM liberal bandwagon wins another round.

That is an incredibly beautiful song. Is it getting any airplay anywhere?

It's their albumn that's been nominated as well as their single. I watched a couple of entertainment shows last night and there was only one mention of them, I think by Access Hollywood. The other three didn't give them a mention.

I was listening to an R&B station talking about the nominations last night, and the female Dj said, "Oh, I think the chicks have a chance to win, I havnt ever heard the song, but they will have a chance". Nobody said anythign thing back, for a few seconds there was just dead air.

"Everybody Knows" the reason the chicks are getting the nominations has nothing to do with artistic merit.

And you can bet they will sweep all the awards. The Grammys have become a DNC rally.

Precicely. I don't actually remember who does the voting here but believe it's the international press corps.

Only in Australia. Here in the US, only on a lot of conservative computer track lists...

Speak for yourself. They performed to a sold out audience in Austin last night. Many in the audience were soldiers in uniform. Same response here when they performed. In San Antonio. With four military bases, the audience was full of soldiers in uniform.

I'm surprised, but believe our men in uniform are perhaps the best examples of rising above the controversy. Wish I could say the same for myself.

Austin? Austin is your guage? Get a clue and I want to see pics of a chicks concert "full", as you put it of soldiers. Fact is, the chicks barely had a "full" concert period. Let alone one "Full" of soldiers.
