I was never a big Billy Idol fan , but always dug the song Eyes Without A Face ...
Not one of my favorites either, liked some of his songs, but what I really like about him is that he "shuts up and sings". I respect him for that at least.

Idol was excellent as the lead singer for Generation X, their first album was great and virtually every song on it was top-20 hit material (in the UK anyway).
I just played a few tracks and was reminded how much they sounded like the Buzzcocks.
