FORT WORTH - Police are investigating the theft of a vintage racing suit, once worn by Dale Earnhardt Sr., which was donated to president of the Texas Motor Speedway Eddie Gossage.
Earnhardt's racing suit, along with a helmet, racing gloves, and a pair of racing shoes, went missing from a locked storage closet in the TMS offices earlier this month.
The racing suit had been used in a promotional display.
The items had been boxed up and placed in storage but when staff went to retrieve them, they found the boxes empty.
The value of these items is estimated between $50,000 and $100,000.
