Flash's first run at the 24 hour race netted a podium finish. He ran through the worst of the monsoon (his words) last night. Pretty good start to the season. :)
That was wild, he stole a Walmart rig first, then Crystal Gayle's tour bus and tried to get into a track in Florida saying he was picking up Tony or something. Obviously Tony's bus is probably orange or at least has flames or something, so the guard knew he was a fraud.
I hope your hubby continues to do well.
If anyone needs a racing fix, this was a great race. Kevin Harvicks first win in the #3/29 in 2001

Reed left his mark (and pieces of his car) on the wall coming out of turn 4. Noticably faster than last year. Gonna be great!
Speed Channel @ 7:00pm ET. Pics.....big ones. Have video I'll post later.
Super Pics! Thanks!
Great pics at that!
(just barely squeezed them in on the 24" wide screen monitor)
It's a wonder that the construction continued while they were running, most of the ones I know are race fans!
He BARELY got Flash on that one!
LOL
There was a lot of people there today, non-edumacated guess would be several thousand. A lot more than last year, just keeps getting bigger. The first time we went to a test session, there were so few people there it was spooky. Won't be long before some bean counter somewhere says, "Hey, we can get money from this!"
Nice warm day, about 65, a cooler with Subway sammiches for all, soda's for the boy and neighbor, ice cold beer for Dad.
As usual, the USAF was gracious enough to have a Red Flag exercise scheduled for the same time. Tired of watching the cars? Watch the jets! I've never posted video but going to try. One of them will be the boy at the fence. Starts out with cars, then goes upstairs to catch an F-15, then back to the track....too cool.
Just a great day.
The construction they have left to do is unbelievable......
In this picture, on the left, they are using the "old" Cup series garage area, will be the "new" Busch series garage area. Not enough room for today. The first hauler you see is the FedEx #11, followed by 9 more haulers - all working out in the open, out of the back of the hauler.
The building in the center of the pic is the new Media Center, now obstructing, for lower seats, a previously unobstructed view of the entire track. Not even close to being done, a bino view of the windows reveals nothing but boxes stacked inside.
Extending from the right side of the Media Center, is the lower R/H leg of the diamond shaped "Fan Intervention Area." The bottom floor is the "new" Cup series garage are, still under construction. The upper level will allow fans to look down, into the individual garage stalls.
The place is still pretty much a mess. Lot's of work to do in a very short period of time.
I saw Reed (now I'm sore) Sorensen hit the wall. After we left, The Biff hit the wall - again. CC says tire was cut.
First time with this new camera, got some tweaking to do on user operation. Anything close to fence would be the boy, up top would be me. Will try to post a working link to video's after dinner.
Turn the sound up!
The one with the fingers in the lens would be the boy at the track side fence....guess he could not decide on what to watch...Nascar or the USAF.
Crap, will not finish the "video processing" for the boy's clip...
Wow great pics Mac. Thanks
Any news on why some of them had terrible speeds?
I tried to get on the Fantasy League page and it says I am not a member.
You broke it!
If there are crazy nights in Vegas, this isn't one of them

We are here in Las Vegas, where the Brew Crew is one of 55 teams testing its cars at the renovated and -- well, quite different -- Las Vegas Motor Speedway. At least that's what we were doing earlier today. As the casino lights shine on this clear Monday night, Dale Jr., Martin Jr., and myself (not a junior) are taking advantage of this lively town by, well, sitting here in the hotel suite, watching Family Guy on a large plasma screen, and admiring the work of You Tube's version of Bob Ross. Dale Jr. insists that with Martin around, it's best we not venture too far from a bathroom. This particular suite has three. (Some of you may not get that joke, but I'm sure the others will fill you in.) Have a good night. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ElrldD02if0
