Fortune favors the bold.
And we will be relentless.
What a novel idea-- supporting the President.
Conservatives need to see this as an opportunity, NOT a disaster. The Moderates ran our party and ran it on the rocks. OK, just like in 1976 and 1992 time for the Conservatives to take back their party.
To start with NEW Congress, NEW Leadership. Time for a hard charging no nonsense leadership in the US Senate and US House.
Time for the Republican Insurgency to teach the Democrats what a REAL quagmire looks like. They wanted it. They lied to the American people about their real agenda to get it. Let them enjoy their Phyrric victory in 2006.
They won most races by a few thousands votes. Let them go home in 2008 and try to defend their record of voting for Ms Nancy and Hillary Clinton's Big Socialist Agenda after running as Republican Lite in 2006.
The president needs to support his supporters, too.
He'll get support if he deserves support. But no, he's got Tony Snow talking about "comprehensive immigration reform" instead.
Why??
He didn't support me much.
Will he support us? If he doesent use his veto pen, he's useless on the domestic side.
Sadly, to prove his bi-partisanship, he will promptly get his version of the immigration bill done first.
Any best on it? Oh, forgot that he signed the ban on internet gambling! :-)
I support him, and I'm proud of him. His resilience and values and perseverence are an inspiration.
Amen. The Presidency is still the most powerful institution, more powerful than both Houses of Congress. We need to fully support our President so he can continue to lead us in this war on terror, and the war at home against the democrats.
I have. I will.
Slick ruled by executive order after 94 and basically just said ****-you to congress. Interesting to see if W. can summon the cajones to do that.
Those of us who support the president came up short on Tuesday. Bush and Rove better figure out fast how to regain the political advantage, or he'll fade into lameduck irrelevancy for the rest of his term.
Regards, Ivan
Yours is the sanest post I've read this morning. We got our butts kicked to be sure but this is a lost campaign in a long battle.
People here have to fire up their memories to that halcyon year of 1974 to remember what real dejection felt like. It was so bad the elders of the Republican party considered changing its name.
6 years later we had RR. W ain't no RR but we've got to support him during, what is sure to be, the most difficult part of his presidency.
I feel bloodied and bruised but intend to fight on.
