Election Night Poem

Twas the night of elections and all through the Senate
Not a congressman was sleeping, not a single incumbent
The voters were casting their ballots with great care
In hopes that lawyers would not have to be there

The voters did not go to sleep in their beds
Instead, they watched TV and their talking heads
Same news, continually repeated, just to recap
Mamma and I both got tired of their crap

But then we turned to Fox news, for what it mattered
HUGE NEWS, the screen all covered and splattered
Something new and different, a real news flash
True news, not just another old rehash

Out from the podium walked Secretary Tony Snow
With interesting news, for him to bestow
The pre election polls were wrong, it appears
Meeting all of the Democrats worst fears

The exit polls were also concluded too quick
(Jon Carry left the room, we think he is sick)
One by one, Republicans won their claim
And Secretary Tony Snow read them all by name

Now Steele, Talent, Allen, and even Santorum
Then Northrup, Davis, yes, every one of them
The Republicans were having a great ball
Celebrating victories for one and for all

As quickly as the Democrats could fly
They got their lawyers on planes in the sky
Injunctions and Subpoenas, in courts they flew
With cries of disenfranchisements, yes that too

Then in court, we heard all of the proof
The Democrat precincts were the source of the goof
The fraud was actually the other way around
ACORN violated the laws, it was to be found

President Bush (not Mr. Bush) came to the mike
To tell the nation, the news RNC would like
The Republicans won, and we are all back
Go tell the troops, definitely NOT to pack!

Iraqi President Talabani was quite so elated
The Iraqi people cheered and celebrated
In a cave far away, Bin Laden was sad
For hiding in that hole sure has been bad

Saddam pounded his fist and clinched his teeth
The Americans won't quit, they won't retreat
Saddam bowed his head and began to weep
For his own country saw him as heap

The troops, they killed the terrorist's will
With only limited lives lost, little blood spill
American troops came home with great pride
To parades, flags, covering the countryside

Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
The media drank the kool-aid
served by the nuts at DU.
