There is big big news in the Chronicle article on the 88 today. At least it is big news to me:

Since April 6, when 88 professors, seven departments and seven academic programs sponsored an advertisement in The Chronicle with that tagline, the debate has raged on.

These jerks did not even spend their own money. They spent Duke's money on this ad. Did we know this outrage before? Duke should immediately fire the chairs of all 7 departments an the directors of each of the 7 programs for misappropriating Duke monies like this to use against Duke students.

Those that have tenure of course remain on the faculty, but not in leadership positions after this misappropriation of funds. And any signatory of this ad who is untenure should not be renewed by Duke.
