We thank you Lord that Thou art the One that holds the nations in the palms of Thy faithful and trustworthy hands.

And while as a nation we have often forsaken Thee and deserve your just judgment, we know that Thou art merciful as well as mighty. Be merciful to our nation, Lord.

Raise up leaders who seek to do Thy will. And help us on this day, and ever day, to rest in the knowledge that Thou art sovereign in Your providence and perfect in all of Your ways.
