It's taking the world a long time to admit that there's no gold at the end of the rainbow of life; we can either keep score or quit the game.
If you are simply keeping score then you are not playing the game. If you quit then you were not playing a good game. If you played a good game then you would never want to quit nor would you give a damn about the score.
