Could be way, way off target; but just for future reference...

http://justice.gov/ndic/pubs3/3690/heroin.htm

"The Durham Police Department, in response to the NDIC National Drug Threat Survey 2001, reports that heroin is widely available"

"Law enforcement officers in Durham report that retail quantities of heroin are frequently sold from several local businesses including small independent recording studios that may be fronts for distributing heroin."

http://www.hri.org/docs/USSD-INCSR/96/Executive/Heroin.html

"Nigeria is critical to the heroin trade. Nigeria is Africa's most significant transshipment point. But Nigerians also surface as the heroin traffickers par excellence on every continent. Though they are among the principal smugglers of Southeast Asian heroin into the United States, Nigerians are regularly arrested in Bangkok, Rio de Janeiro, New York, Moscow, Riyadh, Bombay, etc. Unfortunately, rampant corruption at all levels of government in Nigeria virtually assures Nigerian trafficking organizations a favored place in the heroin trade."

Probably not that off.

Always good to have these facts for future reference if needed.

9309 Royal Crest Dr, Raleigh

is right in the middle of the relatively new Brier Creek Country Club. Sounds like the "Dr." has a house on the golf course. I wonder if his neighbors know what kind of business he runs.

Among other things, I'm sure every one of those clubs can help you get on the horse.

The zoning change request by Mr. O was for a project called Royale Restaurant, involving a use change for a 1455 sq.ft. building at 9309 Royal Crest Dr. within the country club/golf community. The request was approved, which doesn't make sense if this was an upscale residential community, does it?

LB, go the the Wake County website and do a search on his property.

Never mind, I have it right here:

He has made lots of money off of nekkid women. I don't think it was from selling ostrich eggs.

Strange, don't hear the potbangers going after him for exploiting women.

BTW, Purchase Price of 715,000 big ones.
From 3 businesses, 2 have failed
Royal Internation-Suspension
Club Royale - closed
Platinum's - Precious dances there and we all know Brian Taylor used to watch her dance there (and in Smithfield) in addition to driving her.

Now, I admit to being ignorant of the law and investigative procedures, but damn....IS ANYONE PAYING ATTENTION????

Victor Olatoye. I think he was sending me emails a couple years ago. His uncle was a king and had died and there were twenty million dollars in a bank, and if I could help Victor then we'd split the twenty mill...

Well he supposedly has this massive world-wide empire and yet he's running it out of his house? Most restrictive covenants prohibit running a commercial business out of a residential home. I'm wondering because none of this makes sense. Like you, I can't see the city zoning this house anything but residential

Well, this is speculative, but if someone were running a drug importing business, he would likely choose to settle in some place like Durham, where he could count on protection from the local police and not being investigated.

If the cops are his partners, then he needn't fear being interfered with.

But that is entirely for discussion purposes only, presented as a hypothetical. Not meant to point to anyone in particular. I have no knowledge of Mr. O's activities.

But if Durham has a climate that is compatiable with crime, then maybe you might expect to find many others attracted to that clime, as well. . .

Yeah, except he's in a ritzy neighborhood in Raleigh. It's one of those kinds of neighborhoods where the neighbors would almost certainly notice strange comings and goings.

"Looks like Nifong learned more than throwing baseballs from his Little League days. He's a master of mudslinging. From the start that's about all his campaign -- if that's what you call a clique of desperate assistant DAs -- has come up with. We'll see what Durham says on Tuesday," according to the statement from the spokesman, Brad Dixon. N&O 4/27/06

Lost among the outcry over the lax fraud during the primary election was the smear operation the DA had going on Freda Black. This quote references an old sex charge dragged out against one of Freda's campaign managers.

We wonder what else these 'desperate assistant DAs' were up to, helping their boss, and ensuring their job security. Many in his office seem terribly fixated on all matters related to sex.

Henry Co. Sheriff, 19 others indicted

WSLS.com ^ | 11-2-2006

ROANOKE, Va. (AP) - Henry County Sheriff Frank Cassell and 12 of his employees have been indicted on federal charges in an alleged drug-related racketeering conspiracy. A U-S Postal Service employee, a probation officer and five citizens were also charged in the 34-count indictment, which was unsealed today.

Charges in the indictment -- which was handed down on Tuesday --include racketeering, narcotics distribution, obstruction ofjustice and perjury. A spokesman for the U-S Marshal's Service in Roanoke says federal agents arrested most of the defendants early this morning.

The indictment alleges that beginning in 1998, drugs seized bythe sheriff's office were sold to citizens for distribution. Thedrugs include the cocaine, marijuana, steroids and the sedative Ketamine.

The Platinum is open Thursday thru Saturday.

The 23/24/25th of March would be the period the video is from, taken on Saturday the 25th. Note that the period before that is the 16/17/18th. That would be when Precious could have started dancing there after the rape. Precious probably danced at the club the night after Gottlieb interviewed her, the 16th.

Note that the recent H-S article has the wrong date for the video, the 26th, when the club was closed. Possibly to make the owner look correct?

I just heard on the radio that the Sheriff of Roanoke, VA and 11 Deputies have been arrested on drug charges.

They took it from the evidence locker and sold it back on the streets.

If that could happen in Roanoke, it could happen anywhere. The large majority of LE are the good guys. But when the opportunity for corruption is allowed to go unchecked, those few will take advantage of it, anywhere....

My speculative, hypothetical mantra from the beginning has been :
Prostitution --> Drugs ---> Organized Crime
The protection is coming from somewhere.

ltc,

"Note that the recent H-S article has the wrong date for the video, the 26th, when the club was closed. Possibly to make the owner look correct?"

If the club is open after midnight the time stamp on the video could be correct and your operating schedule for the club would also be correct.

Think of C'Destine Anatoli Couch's future if Nifong loses?

Finesse may or may not be tight with the Easley appointee. Crap shoot.

If Nifong wins, he will have won with the support of Finesse, who is on the executive board of the Committee and is President of the Durham Bar as well.

Baby Boy Couch is on the fast track. We all know it. If he wasn't being groomed, that myspace page would have gotten him in a heap of trouble.

BabyBoy Couch was looking for some clubs to visit in (?)Wilmington. It would be a safe bet he is known around the clubs in Durham. Mmmm.

Wonder if he knows Brian Taylor?
Brian Taylor is tight with the NCCU bigwigs.
I guess the "friend" he went with to the clubs has never been named.

But I digress. Back to CDestine. We know this about him:
Looking for a MILF
Loves his body
Favorite movie: Transformers
Favorite Sport: WWF (wants to be in a WWF Smackdown)

Durham, this is you DA's Office.

It's misleading though, if true.

Ed Bradley says the 25th, not the 26th, doesn't he?
