Favorite Frank Sinatra song
Frank Sinatra | Frank Sinatra

Posted on 10/20/2006 9:39:51 PM PDT by FightThePower!

The summer wind, came blowin in - from across the sea It lingered there, so warm and fair - to walk with me All summer long, we sang a song - and strolled on golden sand Two sweethearts, and the summer wind

Like painted kites, those days and nights - went flyin by The world was new, beneath a blue - umbrella sky Then softer than, a piper man - one day it called to you And I lost you, to the summer wind

The autumn wind, and the winter wind - have come and gone And still the days, those lonely days - go on and on And guess who sighs his lullabies - through nights that never end My fickle friend, the summer wind

At the end of my life, I'll remember the songs that mean a lot to me more than anything else? What's yours?

Actually, "Summer Wind" is my favorite too, followed by
2. "Fly Me to the Moon",
3."Luck, Be a Lady", and
4. "Strangers in the Night".

That duet he did with James Taylor, "You've Got a Frand."

The Mods have corrected the title - which makes the replies here look goofy (or is that "lood"...?).

It's quarter to three
There's no one in the place
Except you and me
So set 'em up Joe
I got a little story
You oughta know

We're drinking, my friend,
To the end
Of a brief episode....
So make it one for my baby
And one more for the road

I think The Way You Look Tonight is Tony Benett. Or did Sinatra do it first?

To: lesser_satan; cyborg

I don't know who was first. I've heard both and I prefer Sinatra.

Also, I left "Witchcraft" off my list. That one reminds me of my dear wife. My Sweetness.

Oooooh!

Those fingers in my hair
That sly come hither stare
That strips my conscience bare
Its witchcraft

And I've got no defense for it
The heat is too intense for it
What good would common sense for it do?

'Cause it's witchcraft, wicked witchcraft
And although, I know, it's strictly taboo

When you arouse the need in me
My heart says 'yes indeed' in me
Proceed with what your leading me to

It's such an ancient pitch
But one I wouldn't switch
cause there's no nicer witch than you

That song is playing while Charlie (Mickey Rourke) is getting dressed in the beginning of The Pope of Greenwich Village.

It set the tone for whole movie, IMO.

A wonderful movie it is, btw.

Luck Be A Lady...tonight.

A lady doesn't wander
all over the room
and blow on some other one's dice.
