That is what I am trying to figure out. What is he trying to do here?
Lets just say he wins. He gets to be the DA for one term, then another rat will get elected. He will probably make less money as the DA than in private practice. But he might gain some state benefits. He could use that position as a stepping stone to a higher office as well.
But lets be real here. He isn't going to win. The best thing that could happen to him is for Cheek to win. Because if Nifong wins his hopes of a political career are ruined.
Then there is alway the conspiracy theory that he likes Nifong and is doing this to help Nifong win. But I don't this is it. I think Monks is just a deluded nut who thinks he can win.
Yea, let's be real. Monks is not on the ballot, he is a republican (in a place where most people are democrats), and Cheek is on the ballot. Monks just can't win. All he does is splits the votes. And Freda lost by 881 vote, so every vote counts.
I thought that too for a while but I'm starting to wonder. Who does Monks presence on the ballot benefit more? It seem to me it benefits the Fong.
Am I getting too conspiratorial to think this may have been orchestrated? LOL.
What's he trying to do? Could it be to split the vote?
