Of course there will always be some people who think they don't have to be perfect but everyone else does. This case was not a big deal.

Nothing amazing about him not testifying in that trial in view of what was hanging over him in Durham.

Yeah, it totally boggles the mind that a possible defendent wouldn't be interviewed by the district attorney's office...especially in a case like this when these young men WANT to tell their story.

Here are the two most important things in that interview last night, IMO:

Both from Coleman:

"Asked why a district attorney would order a line-up that breaks virtually every rule in the book, Coleman says, "Well that's a good question for the D.A. But I assume that, you know after his initial performance, in this case, he needed to indict at least three players. And charge them with what he said was a rape that had occurred."

and

"I think that he pandered to the community by saying 'I'm gonna go out there and defend your interests in seeing that these hooligans who committed the crime are prosecuted. I'm not gonna let their fathers, with all of their money, buy you know big-time lawyers and get them off. I'm doing this for you.' You know, what are you to conclude about a prosecutor who says to you, 'I'll do whatever it takes to get this set of defendants?' What does it say about what he's willing to do to get poor black defendants," Coleman asks.

Asked if he thinks the D.A. committed prosecutorial misconduct, Coleman says, "Yes, I mean I think that’s the whole point. And if this case resulted in a conviction, I think there would be a basis to have the conviction overturned based on his conduct. I think in this case, it appears that this prosecutor has set out to develop whatever evidence he could to convict people he already concluded were guilty."

Just stunning. And from Coleman, of all people!

Exactly!

Look what happened to him in Durham when he WAS NOT questioned! One can only imagine what he and his parents thought would happen to him if he took the stand.

All true, and since it was perfectly clear that the conviction was a done deal, there was nothing to gain and everything to lose - especially in view of the fact that it could easily have come in because one of the terms of his original deal was that there be no further arrests.

If that had happened (as it should) then Fonger would have had to admit he had no case. How could he have beaten Freda in the primary?

"...not being asked to appear on...Larry King Live (a competitor) or Oprah"

They are partisan AND stupid.

Their ratings would go through the roof, at least for one show.

But there is method in their madness.

BOR's book came out in good timing for the critical elections. The last thing the LMSM want is for the hated O'Reilly to influence the election. Because if people get to thinking about what it means to put the LEFTWING culture warriors in charge instead of the traditionalists, a few votes might change.

Can't have THAT!

Yeah, I remember thinking that way back them when the Lacrosse case had wall-to-wall coverage on tv.

I am glad you posted that.

I heard him last night, but it didn't sink in as I was so stunned from everything else that was being said.

I think I like this guy!!!

Wait a minute. You're the one who gave the big speech about truth, justice and the American way. How we really don't know what went on before the altercation. How the mean, nasty, crooked judge wouldn't allow certain testimony. I mean, after that big speech of yours, it's just kinda ironic to learn Finnerty didn't take the opportunity to reveal "the truth". By the way, Collin asked for a bench trial.

Kim thought herself to be pretty funny when she admitted to Bradley that she had lit the fuse that provoked some player's response of the n-word by questioning their manhood. Yet the 3 accused are being tarred w/that response which they did not make.

Have you actually had any first hand exposure to the judicial system? It seems you are intent on winding people up for no purpose.

Collin didn't ask for a bench trial. It was a misdemeanor so he didn't have a right to a jury trial.

Since I mis-addressed my earlier post, I'll correct the situation. Collin isn't a punk. All my brothers got into these kind of street fights and they aren't punks. Well, maybe once in a blue moon but not usually. This is life - you don't have to be perfect.
