(CBS) The three Duke lacrosse players indicted for a rape they say they didn't commit are indignant over the effect the charges are having on their lives and their families.
In their first interviews, they speak to Ed Bradley this Sunday, Oct. 15, at 7 p.m. ET/PT.

Contrary to the usual rules, Nifong's malfeasance has made it necessary for THEM to prove their innocence. THEY need to get their lives and reputations back. The orderly presentation of evidence of their innocence in open court is preferable to any books afterwards because people like you will more than likely continue to suspect they really were guilty.
I still cannot get over James Coleman himself delivering the "rope" for the lynching.
That, my friend, was must see TV.

Duke Rape Suspects Speak Out
60 Minutes' Ed Bradley Talks To The Accused Lacrosse Players, Who Have Never Before Been Interviewed
(CBS) When three members of the Duke University mens lacrosse team were indicted for rape last spring, the case put one of the countrys most prominent colleges under intense scrutiny, and it pushed onto a national stage divisive issues of race, gender, politics and privilege.
The three players are white, and come from wealthy families; the accuser is black, a local dancer hired to perform at a team party. Over the past six months, 60 Minutes has examined nearly the entire case file, more than 2,000 documents, including police reports, witness statements and medical records. The evidence 60 Minutes has seen reveals disturbing facts about the conduct of the police and the district attorney, and raises serious concerns about whether or not a rape even occurred. -cut

* The squeeze is on...
Amen.
a civil suit might do it too
When they charge you with something in Durham, you have a full right to go on trial if that is what you want. But please don't decide for someone else that is necessary for them to go on trial.
I don't; I just see Nifong coming out and saying even though he believes he can prove his case, he cannot go on because she's too scared to testify.
Look how long we've been wondering why nobody else understood what was going on down here?
The general public is going to think they are getting away with it because they are white and rich; and Jacqi can come back out and talk about how the Duke alumni (is that you?) offered Crystal two million dollars to drop the charges UNREFUTED.
Do you really think these boys and their families are going to sit still for that?
They are entitled to their day in court to prove their innocence beyond a shadow of a doubt.
Nifong started this; and Bill Cheshire can finish it.
Bless you, Neon!
I just feel COMPELLED to watch it again!
Cheshire can dipose the hell out of everybody though and the truth will out. I would like to see them acquitted though.
Is Jennyd the old muwama or whatever it was?
Sure they can. The "black community" has been quick to attack those who, like Clarence Thomas, Shelby Steele etc, don't sing the blues all the time about how whitey got 'em down and won't let up. They even started in on Juan Williams, giving him the "Bill Cosby treatment" for his book.
LOL.......I don't know....good guess though!
You seem to put a price on their going to trial. A good and spotless reputation is worth more than money.
Unless this goes to trial, some things may never see the light of day. I have been told that NC is one of the few states where an accusation alone is sufficent for a rape charge.
If true, this should have been a cake walk for Nifong except he forgot one thing. He was jerking around the INNOCENT children of Power Players.
Take an accusation and an ID to a Grand Jury and PRESTO!
Indictment.
The majority of the residents in Trinity Park are venomous in their hatred and disdain towards the lax players and Duke students. Their blogs drip with hate and their own special elitism.
Duke-Buster Gottlieb was ever vigilant in protecting the residents from the potty criminals.
When Precious charged rape, the ball started rolling. There was something in it for everyone.
Gottlieb finally had something to nail the Dukies with.
Trinity Park residents could finally be rid of those loud party pissers.
Nifong had his hook for the election.
Trifecta
Unless this goes to trial, the boys will never be truly exonerated and Nifong will skate.
yes....sort of....I was in the attic with my hubby. :-)
I agree that airing this now was a purely tactical decision, although it is certainly welcome.
And I am sure if their attorneys can prevent a trial, they will do all they can to do so. As they should.
No lawyer will want to take his client on trial if that can be avoided.
