I hope 60 Minutes isn't going to be split up into two weeks - one segment this week, one segment next week - like Gaynor says. I thought it was going to be two segments in one show. Anyone know for sure? But, it looks like it was 2 segments on one show. Phew! 60 minutes nailed it, no "yes, but..."s about it.

I think he was desperately trying to be "loved" by the city of Durham and the university -- at least the part he thought was important.
He was perfectly willing to destroy these boys to try to keep it from hurting Duke's reputation as he saw it.
I wonder how that's working out for him?

The demeanor of these young men certainly showed up the falsity of Nifong's reckless characterization of them as "hooligans.\".

The reason the N&O, Brohead etal were so willing to trash the lacrosse team in general is Nifong lied to them. He told them a crime most certainly happened and the lacrosse team was covering up. I am not very sympathetic to any of them, but face it when the local DA says a crime was committed, most people tend to believe there was one. If a crime had been committed here, then the lacrosse team would have been the perps.
All DAs should hate Nifong because our tendency to believe them when they say a crime has been committed has been undermined. But it is a good lesson to all that innocent until proven guilty means that.
On a lighter side, the CourtTV Duke board is not taking new posts tonight. I guess closed waiting for news?

Not being a Duke alum, I am taking a wild guess that Brodhead may be looking for a new job soon.
He was not a presence and sounded like a pussy. (Sorry only word that fits)
When he said answewred the "rush to judgement" issue he basically said "The dog ate my homework"
I told my wife the exact same thing.
Broadhead is a guilt ridden liberal. He saw the bad publicity Duke was receiving and he had to stop that at any cost. Those young men were the bones he tossed to placate the marchers and activists as well as his own sense of liberal guilt.
Funny how they didn't even mention Gottleib's report? 60Min didn't seem to think it was too impt. But wasn't that the whole basis for the NYSlime? 60 and NY Slime with different takes. I'm confused..My world view is being skewed...
Any ideas why 60min got it right? Too good a real story to pass up? Trying to balance out face-lift Couric?
