Doesn't help the cause to belittle a potential market

Merely speaking the truth. The best-selling beers in the U.S. are watered-down garbage that takes a 12-pack to feel a buzz.

"Merely speaking the truth."

I drink both sides of the argument, and write about them too.

If craft brewers realized how many BudCoorsMillers drinkers are turned off by their more fanatical customers and their pronouncements that industrial beer drinkers are stupid -- drink piss water/crap, etc., they might step in to smooth the aggresive nonsense from too many of their adoring beer geek fans.

80% of the beer drinking market hits the "American-style" pilsners. About 13% enjoys imports. Where's that leave the craft brewers?

If you want to see craft brewers make a bigger gain, a bigger following, belittling the guy who enjoys Coors Light will NOT sway him over to your point of view.

Coors and their Blue Moon line is growing and growing. People still think Leinenkugel is a little brewery in upper Wisconsin, though it's a SABMiller line. The traditional beer drinker will try something different if nutured, but not if he's confronted with some geek flamer screaming that he's an idiot for drinking BudCoorsMillers.

Years ago, craft brewers and their following used to boast that they weren't stuck-up like wine drinkers. Today, their followers can be worse than the biggest metro wine snob in the world.

There's any old saying about drawing more flies with honey...
