I think there was something up with this pit stop. And I've noticed it before.
Sometimes Phil says "Peter and Sara, who arrived first, at 5:15am, depart at 5:15pm." This time it was "Peter and Sara, who arrived first, depart at 5:15 pm." Or whatever time it actually was.
It makes me think they have pit stops that are longer than 12 hours.

"After the sun set over the Kuwaiti desert, friends Peter & Sarah finally arrive at the feed lot and receive a clue directing them to the Pit Stop where Phil informs them they had been eliminated from the race."
Do you think Peter and Sara had to fill the bean sacks, or did they get a pass since they were last anyway? I don't rmember seeing them complete this task.
To: rarenmrepublican
They didn't bother doing the task, since they knew they got the last clue.

Or at least the producers didn't show it since it had no affect on the outcome.

Are you like me and confusing TAR with Survivor? LOL! I've done that a couple times now! As far as health goes I think the TAR bunch will end up slimmer and more worse for the wear than the Survivors. This season Survivor people seem well fed and cared for.

Good grief. Yes, I'm in the twilight zone this morning.

I think the auto camel whipper is the funniest thing I have ever seen.
Yeah, I'm still addicted hard to this show. I reallllllly hated he family version, though, adn i think it was the Brooklyn mom who really did it for me.

You got your wish. Peter and Sarah were mismatched. Sarah had more strength and determination in her little pinky finger than Peter had in his entire body. Will be sorry to see Sarah go.

Thanks for the summary, sj. A great show last night! Particularly interesting to see the Kuwaiti guys reacting/not reacting to the beauty queens....
I join my voice to the chorus of boo hisses for Peter and only wish that spunky little Sarah could have continued without him. He made her do every single difficult task and she came through with flying colors. Good on you, Sarah.

I think you are right with this being a longer than 12 hour pit stop. Peter and Sarah left at 12:54 PM if memory serves and they got there in the daytime. The team from Kentucky left at 6:04 PM and we know they got there the previous time at night in the dark and I doubt it was 6:04 AM when they arrived.
To: tob2
Why couldn't Peter and Sara ask for directions? They must have been driving for hours.
I am so glad that Peter is gone.
To: silent_jonny
Thanks for the recap! I'm sooooo glad Peter is gone. My gosh he was a creep. I was seriously considering not watching if he stayed on much longer.
The Cho brothers continue to impress me. I know the race is about winning and not just about *deserving* to win, but they are truly a class act.

By the time they had arrived at the detour, all other teams had already checked in to the pit stop. In this instance, their detour instructions simply said to proceed to the pit stop.
Had this been a non-elimination leg, they would have still had to do the detour. Since it was an elimination leg, there was no reason for them to do the detour (we were already sick of Peter and sure didn't need to hear him badger Sara about carrying a 100 lb bag of feed).
I've noticed this before in other seasons. When a team is so far behind that they arrive at the route marker when all other teams have already checked in, they've simply been instructed to go to the pit stop.

Good, then my memory isn't going, yet. I would estimate that they were at this pit stop for almost 24 hours, for some reason. I have never noticed this before for any other season. Wonder what happened?

(((TAR Ping)))
Episode #7
"I Wonder if This Is Going to Make My Fingers Pickle"
One team books airline tickets for a team
farther back in the line, causing tempers to flare;
car troubles bring one team up short
and they watch the other teams pass them by.
The race resumes tonight at 8pm EST, after football and 60 Minutes
As always, if you want on or off this ping list, just let me know.

The Coalminers may be returning the favor of the Chos. That would be a nice gesture.
BTW, thanks so much for these pings because like three Sundays in a row now I had completely forgotten it is TONIGHT! Heh heh! Tick....tick....tick....tick...
