So how did our mysterious headline writer come to the conclusion that the tests showed "accuser was free of controlled substances"?
It did no such thing.
The test results would have revealed any drugs in her system that have a long enough half-life to get into her hair. He may have thought a date-rape drug could be revealed. He may have thought nothing would be revealed and, even though he made the claim to the media about a date-rape drug being used, he may already have known there wasn't one used and he was hoping the test results would be negative to all drugs so he could shoot down the defense claim that Mangum was out of it when she arrived.
