No one has ever released the true info on when John R might've *first* called an attorney, so we may never know. There are lots of statements concerning the contacts that afternoon, but he made a lot of calls that day, so we don't really know.
They had already made plans to fly out to MI that morning. No doubt he was notifying the pilot as to the change of plans.
