For your bookmarking assistance, this is a reference list of links to the Aug 2006 or newer Free Republic threads on the topic of the JonBenet Ramsey murder case and the possible arrest of John Mark Karr as a suspect in her murder.
I have to agree.....and let us not forget the a neighbor heard a scream...that is probably when the death blow occured...
Yes, but we on this thread have been told emphatically by fellow FReepers who seemed to know that there was no such party. That there was in '95, not 'in 96.
To me it is HUGE that this has been turned on its head, so that now you seem to accept it as fact but are raising lots more questions about how could he have accomplished this.
Ok, questions, I can understand.
But I'm still trying to TAKE IN that there was a party. I had always thought that to be true back near the murder aftermath, but was willing to drop it if proven wrong.
Now...this. My head is spinning.
Point of view
>>>I don't think there is any - i mean any - credible evidence that this guy did it. It's yet another pathetic case of the Boulder authorities fucking this case up. That's the real story. Wait... the next news cysle will be filled with "How did Boulder get it so wrong?" stories. We'll see endless footage of JMK walking out of jail... it will be pathetic. meanwhile, iran is plotting a nuclear strike, but We're glued to Nancy Grace interviewing former Bouolder DA employees who say "they knew it was a mistake all along...">>>
I think you are correct. They will want to pass it off as they just wanted to question him and see where that went. I don't think they realized the hysteria that would arise from this. I think the DA is going to be shown as imcompetant as ever. I hope Mary Lacy has other plans after this job is up.
Larry King Live - they are talking about it now (the party info from Karr sounds fishy)
turn on CNN......question..did JMK's brother attend the party...he wasn't on the guest list and no information that he ever worked for JR..
JMK's lawyers coming up on LKAlive
Well, I can certainly see your point as to how HE might rationalize it. But my doubts about him aren't really based on whether I think his confession is sensible - from his point of view. It's the reaction of the DA, and the way the case has been handled, that makes me suspicious. They already seem to be on the defensive which makes me think the evidence they have is a kind of paper tiger that they previously thought was solid but on closer examination proved to be really weak. Otherwise, why be so tight-lipped about what they have? The case is 10 years old and most of the info is already in the public domain. Maybe they truly have something only the killer could know but surely they have other things that can stand on their own...don't they? Is proof he was in Boulder somehow a necessary secret until trial? Would DNA or fiber evidence or any other forensics they have require secrecy before the trial? I don't think so. It's only those things that ONLY the killer could know that have to be kept secret. Surely they've got something else? That's what makes me suspicious. Maybe that's all they have and it's damning. But I'm still suspicious until I learn more.
Good questions. I also have no idea at this time how many guests were at the party and how lavish it was. I'm pretty sure that there were multiple children there to make the "Santa" thing worthwhile so it could very well have been catered. I'm not sure Karr really needed an alibi. He just had to look like he was supposed to be there. I've snuck into places a time or two and if you just hold your head high and look like you belong, most people won't challenge your presence.
Another question I have is whether any parts of the house were off limits. It's a huge house so wouldn't they have tried to keep certain areas private where guests had no reason to be? I realize some hosts never think of those things yet I'm the type that would, particularly if there are small children around.
Finally, if Karr slipped in during the party and talked to JBR to gain her trust, why was she not amongst other friends her age during most of the party and why were those children not supervised by any parents? Would any of those people, even the children, be able to recognize Karr as the person they saw that night?
here it comes...
now she is saying they are advising him, but they will likely be going to CO shortly.
If what he says is true about being in the house 5 hours before the Ramseys got home is pretty amazing...amazing in the aspect that he didn't leave DNA, prints or any other evidence all through the house.....I don't think I am buying it...
....PLEASE!...the police intimidating him!!!
I agree. I would think there would have to be some forensics left behind, even if he was wearing gloves or whatever.
I cannot even post what they are saying... it is pure defense puke.
Good that scrutiny is being done to Karr's claims, but people can get let into parties for other reasons than being on the guest list.
Also, brother worked for Ramsey doing what? When? How long? Did he work for him directly or for an assoc. or friend...someone who vouched for him and JMK to get them in?
I'm not claiming any of this, just cautioning that it could be more complex than meets the eye. But if it TRULY doesn't add up, let's get at the truth.
I'm gonna have to turn these two dames off, they are making me sick..
A good point. I'm not even sure how well one can hold their bladder for five hours, particularly as they experience the adrenaline rush of sneaking into a house and fear of being caught.
