>>>"To the best of our recollection, he was either with us in Atlanta or with (his ex-wife) Lara," Nate Karr said. "It's not as easy as you might think to remember 10 years ago.">>>

'We don't know where he was, we just know he wasn't THERE.' Sheesh. Nate needs to shut up, he isn't helping John at all.

true, that is if they don't have evidence right now that he did it and can prove it.

Seems to me that Nate is trying to "help his own case". Looking out more for his own embarrassing self than for John. After reading what Wendy Hutchens posted have wondered if anyone was looking out for John....My heart aches for abused children. Sadly they often become the abusing adult, or worse.

For someone like JMK who has come from a broken down family, being abused is considered "normal" in their eyes, and they end up carrying that stigma with them into their adult lives. To the rest of us, the lives of JMK are just downright abnormal, galling, tragic and sad.

Didn't I hear they could charge him for making a false confession and he could get 10 years? If ANYONE needs to get 10 years for making a false confession it would be him. But if he is that delusional, he needs to at the very least be in a mental facility.

I believe after watching Primetime this past Monday night, Karr comes off as both physically and emotionally abused. Some expert said that JMK built up this fantasy world around him, that to him seems real, and can't distinguish fantasy from reality. Whether that's a cover for past crimes or just part of the mental sickness, is anyone's guess.

IMO Ten years in the General population of a prison would be a life sentence for John.

BTW, the X DA was just on Court TV saying they could have gotten his DNA from the envelope he sent the prof.....I said that a couple of days ago.....He'd better catch up!

FYI an abuser is not considered "mentally ill". Abuse is considered a behavior disorder and not treatable.

...from everything I have read on the subject that statement is true...that is why there is so many repeat offenders....once they are caught, they should never be allowed out in the general population.

"Here is the deal. This DA has 72 hrs to charge Karr for the murder of JBR or not. If she doesn't charge him than we will know he didn't do the crime. If he does there will likely be an arress afidavit that tells us a bit more of what the evidence is on him. So by Monday I think we will know if Karr did the crime or not, but we will just have to be patient. If for on haven't decided yet like some people. Heck, some people refuse to believe he did it and still point to the Ramsey's. I think he might have done it, but I won't say without doubt I think he did or didn't kill JBR."

The rocky mountain news reported today that prosecutors in Boulder - who know about as much as we do about the evidence - said they think the DA must have a really solid case against JMK b/c of the speed with which CA released him to CO. Just insiders hunches, but interesting. I do suspect there is more, I'm just wondering what it is.

My aunt said that to me the other night. She said any way you look at it, it looks like we are going to have a funeral to go to before it's over. Whether the DP or murder.

To: Halls; Always Right

Halls, thanks for focusing us on the fact that {{{the DA has to decide quickly}}} on whether to bring a case or not.

They say he won't be processed before Monday. I got the impression after that is when the 72-hr clock starts running, but someone else might know better.

LOL...I see you've been corrected to: we'll see by then whether the DA thinks she's got a case, NOT that we'll know if he did it or not. Welllll...that depends.

I understand what "always right" is saying. However, he could be outright CLEARED. They could say there's evidence he was not in Boulder CO, for instance, or something else that shows he couldn't have committed the crime.

We'll just have to...GASP..{{{wait and see}}} if he's charged, given a clean bill on the murder charge, or they just release him for lack of sufficient evidence.

He still has the charges against him in CA. There would be no way they could protect him by keeping him in solitary for those misdemeanors. May be the reason they didn't initially take him there first.....CO does seem to be trying to protect him.

Do you know which brother of John's Nate is? John reportedly claims he has a brother who "worked for John Ramsey" and that he went with his brother to a Ramsey Christmas party prior to the day of the murder. Claims he sat on a staircase with JonBenet and did coin tricks for her, gaining her trust, for later when he would lure her from her bed to go with him, on the night of her death. This is one of the things about his story that you would think could be easily investigated and proven or disproven.

Another freaky story that I heard about from recording Good Morning America this morning.

AUSTRIA
Abducted girl retells 8-yr nightmare
Michael Adler
Fri, 25 Aug 2006
An Austrian teenager held captive for eight years has given the first account of her ordeal to police since escaping, saying she had to call her kidnapper "master" though he was "kind" to her, press reports said on Friday.

Police said DNA samples have confirmed that the young woman who turned up after disappearing in 1998 when 10 years old is in fact Natascha Kampusch.

A few points to catch up with:

1. Could that mug shot make Karr look any more creepy? The lighting looks like one of those Hollywood movies where they try to make you look evil. Of course, with all the photo tricks coming out of Beirut, maybe the Boulder folks do their own photoshopping. Or maybe he really does look evil.

2. Nate's doing what any brother should do. They stand up for their family mamber and force the prosecutors to prove he was at the scene of the crime. People keep forgetting that it's the prosecution who has to prove Karr was in Boulder, not the family who has to prove he was not. If this is going to turn into trail-by-media, somebody from the family needed to jump in and speak for the family, even if they don't have all their facts lined up yet.

FWIW, I have my own black sheep brother who drifts in and out of our lives. He's the sort that one could picture joining a convent or shooting up a post office and say to yourself "it's possible". But if he were accused of something like this, I guarantee you I would publicly challenge the prosecutors to prove it was him and prove he was there. I wouldn't lie for him, but I'd make the prosecutors back up their claims. He's family and because he's family, we're going to defend first and wait for the facts to contradict us.

3. Sonoma County, CA says they alerted the Boulder folks about Karr in 2001 when he was up on the kiddie porn rap and noted him blabbing about the JBR case. The Boulder folks weren't interested then. Now the DNA in the panties that did not come from a family member angle surfaced in 2002 (the Rocky Mountain News had a story saying it could have been DNA from when it was manufactured in Southeast Asia from somebody coughing or sneezing). In 2003, they took what they could make of this DNA sample and the DNA sample under JBR's fingernails and ran it through a national crime database of 1.5 million perps which turned up nothing. Wouldn't Sonoma County, CA have taken a DNA profile of Karr, a known kiddie porn guy with possible pedophile history and a fugitive from justice, and added that to this national database in 2001? And if not, why not? So, is it possible Karr's DNA has already been compared and came up not a match?

4. The "police must have something on Karr they aren't telling us to have him arrested in Thailand" angle seems to be getting weaker by the day. FWIW, I don't fault Boulder for arresting him and bringing him in. He certainly has behaved like a person of interest, they've tried to locate him for months, they found their chance and seized it. Karr could have vanished on them and we would then never know if he was the killer or not. But I think that's essentially all Boulder has to go on is the psuedo-confession of this guy and his odd communications with the CU professor. This case has been a black eye for Boulder going on ten years. It doesn't surprise me at all that they want desperately to resolve this for their own sake and would be willing to go halfway around the world to bring in a possible suspect. It doesn't mean they have much more than that to go on.

>>>Do you know which brother of John's Nate is? >>>

He is his younger half brother, by his father's second wife. I don't know which brother John was referring to as working for John Ramsey.
