For your bookmarking assistance, this is a reference list of links to the Aug 2006 or newer Free Republic threads on the topic of the JonBenet Ramsey murder case and the possible arrest of John Mark Karr as a suspect in her murder.
the way she was killed was very sadistic and he enjoyed what he did her.
I found it very hard to believe that the perp did not take a "trophy" item with him or that did not leave something for police to find.
the missing item or the clue he left behind may have not been discovered right away and most likely it was never leaked out.
My mother kept hers and they were some choice reading when I was a teen. She was a regular Scarlet O'Hara.
If any of JMK letters/notes to his first wife/in-laws were negative or threatening, they may have hung on to them just in case they needed them for legal purposes. I would have.
But I agree, different people do different things for different reasons.
IMOThe ransom note is a big clue......The guy was into kidnapping movies.
BTW just reported that Harris....representative of the Karr family has quit....Said he was going to the woods to get some rest.
Technically, they shouldn't. Once it becomes a crime scene, they should vacate the premises, taking only what is needed to go about daily living. I would have sent Burke to spend time with family elsewhere and kept the parents in some type of temporary residence (or a hotel) and had them stay to help law enforcement solve the crime while everything was still fresh - except, of course, the parents weren't too eager to help law enforcement solve the crime.
They should have been allowed to plan for the funeral arrangements and attend them, of course, but the rest of the time they should have been making themselves available for questioning. It's what I would have done. I would have become obsessed with solving the case and finding out why my daughter died.
Too funny - they faked out the media and landed at Jeffco instead of Boulder muni.
I wonder if Karr was saying, "Oh, yes, my brother and John Ramsey and I took off from here many times. His hangar was over there >> and we often had coffee in the FBO coffee shop over there >> blah blah."
Have flown into the Denver airport and was looking at the map for the location of the others.....Can't find any of them?
LOL...if they are anything like Karr, then I can understand why he quit and needs some rest.
Gee, after telling the world that John is crazy and his mother was, too? Ya think Wex wasn't too happy about that? Or, maybe the new showbiz agent didn't get along with him, lol.
did you get my freep mail.....added a thought or two to you grooooosome plot.
Wonder if he has any thing to tell? Calling the Boulder DA! Calling the Boul.....
Jeffco is in Broomfield, I think - or near it - between it and Boulder, IIRC.
Correction to what I said about the practice ransom note earlier. I'm still rusty on all this.
It was ink bleed-through from the Sharpie, not indentations alone, which were readable on the sheet underneath. And the writer hadn't finished the R in Ramsey after Mr & Mrs.
You do realize, don't you, that it takes about 14 hours to drive from Hamilton, Alabama, to Boulder, CO. (That's non-stop--no breaks, no gas fillups).
It would have been physically impossible for John Karr to get to Boulder by 5 P.M. on Christmas Day, to hide under JonBenet's bed (as he claims) and to murder her sometime between 10 p.m. and midnight.
I think you are right. After reading about some of these type cases today, it's disturbing how truly demented these people are. I'm fearful that there is something horribly gruesome that was done to her and is still unknown to the public. I also believe that the killer kept the portion of the broken paintbrush as a trophy.
Not if he didn't drive.
Absolutely. Who says he drove? He could have driven to an airport. I'm not saying he did. I'm saying we don't know yet. Was the neighbor with him when he drove to Atlanta after moving furniture earlier? Hmmmmm, wonder why furniture was moved on Christmas; oh never mind, I digress... And the neighbor knows it was '96 because...
"Hmmmmm, wonder why furniture was moved on Christmas"
I was wondering about that too. Most people are spending Christmas morning with their family.
I'm thinking this car business may have caused him to keep some odd hours. If his family had grown accustomed to that his missing might not stand out as memorable. None of them seem to recall what the neighbor is saying.
Is everyone out to dinner?
I just got back from dinner. ;^)
Just saw this from an article on another thread.......Karr signed love letters to his child bride with S. B. T. C. - the same initials as the ransom note. Doesn't look good.
