For your bookmarking assistance, this is a reference list of links to the Aug 2006 or newer Free Republic threads on the topic of the JonBenet Ramsey murder case and the possible arrest of John Mark Karr as a suspect in her murder.
>>>He got that from a report (former Det.) Steve Thomas told about JonBenet the night of the 12/23/96 party sitting by herself on the step of the butler pantry (behind the kitchen) and telling one of her mother's friends, who was unnamed in Thomas's account of it, that she "didn't feel pretty." >>>
If this is true, I am soooo saddened that the Ramsey's placed so much emphasis on this little girl's looks. My six year old daughter likes looking and feeling pretty, but believe me, she wouldn't brood over it. She is much more interested in how pretty her Barbie is, or the current video game she is playing, or her favorite book. How sad.
It's very interesting that the question of schizophrenia has come up. I had a woman live in my house for a year who was paranoid and had schizoid tendencies. K has been reminding me of her. He seems to have a blend of true and false facts. He seems to know some things, but his perceptions are off. Where reality and his own world blend together is difficult to figure. But just because some of the things he says are clearly not true does not mean that all of them are. And it does not mean he is "lying." I don't know what to think about all of this, but I don't write him off as innocent because he's wrong about some things.
>>>*oh, well, I tried* That's the closest I could come to putting some facts to the person.>>>
It's ok. Thanks for trying though!
That one you posted is the closest though.
It really struck Steve Thomas the same way. It was something that just came out in questioning of the party attendees, trying to get a feel for JonBenet's demeanor in the previous few days.
There had been a 911 call which was a hang-up, made from the house that night during the party and he was trying to see if something had happened to JonBenet that wasn't being divulged.
As it turned out, it was just Fleet White (Jr., the father of the little boy Fleet III) trying to make a long distance call and the Ramseys' phone was an office-type system that you had to dial 9 to get a line out. It was a mistake, so he hung up.
One of the friends told about finding JonBenet sitting alone and asking her how she was when she answered that. Det. Thomas felt it was indicative of a sadness of some type, obviously.
If they dig out the photos from the party, you'll see she had on a darling little black (possibly dark, dark green) velvet party dress with a white lace collar and she looked precious. All her friends were there and they had gingerbread houses and the home was decorated to the nines for Christmas. Seemed like a child's paradise, but she was feeling down.
The only pic I have saved on this puter is a bad copy or I would put it up on a server and post it. I have two better ones somewhere on a disk, but too many to go through to find it. I looked briefly for it online the other night and couldn't find it quickly.
Sure. Maybe the hordes of reporters will actually go to the courthouse and find the true details.
Hey, I saw Quientana on GMA this morning and she's a doll. She reminds me of someone, but I can't think who - maybe Sheryl Crow, but prettier.
You'd never know she is the same person as the 12-year-old girl that JMK met and bulldozed into marrying him. She was something of a plain Jane then, with brown hair and looked a little pudgy. Not now - va va vavoom.
The family's story was sad and odd. This 19-year-old kid had them totally flummoxed. I'm amazed at how scared they were of him! Her father, who seems very nice and much different than I was picturing him - not backwoods or anything like that - just very normal - had gone to the sheriff when they woke up one morning and Q was gone.
You know how Bamans are - he said the sheriff just kinda drawled "you know how kids are, Larry - she'll come home shortly." (She did, that evening, with JMK.) And evidently, the parents could never get LE to do anything about it.
Her mother cried a lot, talking about that period of their lives. Q didn't really say a whole lot - she's very soft-spoken - but said Karr drugged her and made her do things she didn't even know she did. She was terrified of him, although she knew he "loved" her.
Her father said all he did was write dark, demonic letters to her - "no love to them". Poor man, he was hard-pressed to find the words to describe it. And mom just cried some more. At least they had a happy ending and showed her wedding photos - she and her mom both over-emphasized how much her new hubby loves her - and she has a 4-mo-old baby.
The very strangest thing was that Q said Karr signed many of his notes to her with "S.B.T.C."
That, I found almost too much to believe. They didn't show the writings on-screen, but I feel like if she said this and had them to show, it would be very big news. They don't seem like scammers at all - very sincere.
Here's her pic and the article about the show this morning:

Hopefully they will turn them over to the Boulder police immediately.
Did she give a clue to what the "S.B.T.C." stood for back then?
Can't get the video to download on dialup. WIll they have a transcript later?
CourtTV just reported that the Karr's family is out shopping for a Book/TV Movie deal. They claim they are doing it so that they can raise money to pay for the lawyers.
If that's true about JMK signing letters to Ray with "SBTC" then why didn't she or her parents tell LE when copies of the ransom note were made public?
Who can forget that totally worthless Monica L. "book," then Amber came with a literary tome - NOT, and Scott Peterson's sister's redundant musings, etc.
Try this...

also your firewall may be blocking the video and have to change your video setting to 24 or 32 bit color.
Attorney: Suspect in JonBenet Ramsey killing anxious to return to Colorado (new info)

This is a FR thread about his first wife supposedly having gotten letters from him signed S.B.T.C....
SO, hiw ex wife says he signed many letters to her before he killed JBR with S.B.T.C. on them? WOW, if this is true I'm starting to think more and more maybe he is the guy afterall!
I think they probably didn't follow the case as I didn't. Frankly I didn't know anything about S.B.T.C until this latest arresst. I was a adult when this happend, watched the news a bit on the case, but never really looked at the ransom note and evidence myself. That is probably what this gal's family did and they probably never thought anything about it. I think it is totally innocent on their part. Who would think that someone they know could possibly done this crime?
I don't know.
But I also don't know if she or her parents followed the JonBenet case closely enough to read or even look at the format of the Ransom Note.
It has only been recently that I realized how it was signed, and I paid attention to the news when the murder happened but not in great detail.
Far as I know, they had no reason to take any special interest in the case, not knowing of a possible connection to Karr.
If they had any inkling about his connection, I guess that will come out...
thanks... oh I wish we would hear something about the DNA results.

My suspicions: That it was dna/match on an envelop/stamp or package sent to either the prof of Patsy that convinced them that Daxis was the perp.
That dna was taken in Thailand to confirm they had the correct person.
That dna will be taken again to be used in court.
We'll hear about it when it comes to trial.
